A friend I haven't talked to in some years called me from his satellite phone while floating on an iceberg in international waters and had a few questions. He had some leftover STB goop and wanted to clean it up some. He has some HCL in the form of pool cleaner,lye,brew-rite cleaner, glassware, xylene and of course good clean iceberg water.

He was thinking of doing a wash with the brew rite first on the goop then adding 3x volume of ph adjusted water to the goop and solvent mixture after it has been separated from the brew rite mix. He wanted to know would it need any heat and is a ph of 4 good or should he go lower to make it into a hydrochloride? He was then going to discard the oil side after 2 additional pulls of ph adjusted water. After that a lye solution of 10-13 would be made to basify the water with a clean fresh solvent being used to pull the magic back to the solvent. He just wanted me to ask if that would work and if heat would be required so he could set that up if needed. If this sounds OK I will ring up the satellite phone and let him know.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

You are taking safety whilst posting to another new level Laughing At least there no prob with the freeze precip Razz
With the A/B clean up it would work better if you got the acid ph to around 3, defat and then the ph up with lye to around 13 and extract, just like if it was a normal A/B extraction. but gotta warn you sometimes we still end up with some oilly residue from that tek, it all depends with what you´ve started up in the first place i guess.
Good luck to your friend Razz

OK thanks, he has a decent amount of experience but just not with this and just was not sure if heat was the norm to salt it. It seemed reading the other a/b teks there is a slow cook for the A part. He was also wondering if anyone may have a decent ratio of goo/water/solvent. He thinks 50-60ml of solvent per gram of goo should be good to dissolve it making it more able to contact the water HCL layer below. Is the 3x amount of water hcl ok or more/less? Would it be best for him to get the ice pick out and un-freeze his vacuum pump for a distillation run? He knows the BP of the dmt but the other alkaloids like oxide and jungle spice from the jimjam are unknown to him. Do they come out before or after the main one?
