im not sure about the white streaks, maybe it wasnt so much base to turn the whole thing black? If your yield is not so good or if you get emulsions, add more base. (btw, are you sure your NaOH is pure ?) Im not sure if they are necessarily alkaloids precipitating or if it could be other components of mimosa that change colour when in a high pH solution.. In any case, if the naphtha is cloudy, that is generally a good sign, but it might also be that its cloudy but still not saturated enough so maybe not all (or not much) of the dmt will precipitate.
You said you used 150ml naphtha per pull, but how much mimosa was it? If after 12-24 hours there isnt too much crystals there or not at all or something, take it out of the freezer, evap to half the volume and stick it in the freezer again. If there are significant amount of crystals, check
this link out on a tip how to retrieve them. Remember to reuse the naphtha after getting the crystals.
