SWIM is currently using MHRB in Marsofolds and the extraction, base, and napatha are all seperating in the large wine jug. Now what SWIM was expecting to see was 2 layers, a dark lower one and a clear top one. That is what SWIM has, but between the layers is a 1mm thick layer of what seems like a light brown liquid from the side and at an angle looking down inside, the layer looks like it has sparkles along the top and has a lustered dark gold color instead of brown. After SWIM pulls the napatha he was thinking of either adding more base or napatha to the jug to extract it. If nothing SWIM may just pull it out how it is and give it a good examination?

sounds like it is a suspension of lye water / mimosa bark, part of a emulsion that hasn't fully settled. Leave it to sit for a while and see if it separates, if it doesn't, just pull the naptha out, and maybe do another pull with more naptha, but definitely don't extract that layer with the sparkly stuff, that is most likely mimosa/lye.

Yup, just give it time. The application of a warm water bath will also speed up the separation.

Emulsions are usually a sign of not enough base...throw another 1-2% your original weight in lye in the mix...should help those emulsions settle quickly.
