SWIM is using Marsofolds and while in the first cook in the crockpot, all of the root is finley chopped and settled to the bottom. But there is a small amount of material floating at the top the looks like powdered wood or very very small pieces of bark, with a small hand strainer I can skim it off the top, should I leave it and pour it off with the rest of the liquid and see if it settles overnight or should I strain it off the top?

Doesn't matter as long as you collect liquids only and leave all solids for the next cook.

well the problem is , is that the small and thin solids are floating on the top and will get poured off with the liquid, is it ok if those dont settle overnight or should i just pick it out now before I pour?

If you're pouring through cheesecloth to strain your aqueous mhrb it won't matter as your cheesecloth will catch the solids. If you're set on going with no filter, you can skim it off and add it back to your solids after you pour off your liquid. Personally, I'd advise using cheesecloth or a t-shirt to filter it, but that's just me.

It's up to you. In the end you want no solids with your pulls. That's all. Learn to trust yourself and the material.

thanks for the t-shirt idea snozzleberry, Swim just did it now and that was a last second save, but now the liquid SWIM extracted is a very dark reddish color and SWIM has been waiting for the vegetable sludge to seperate from the water and it isnt seperating at all and it has been a good 5 untouched hours,SWIM knows it needs to sit all night but SWIM is seeing no signs of seperation, what should SWIM do if he wakes up towmorrow and it isn't seperated? -using MHRB with Marsofolds tek
