I've found a really easy way for siphoning off your organic layer from a milk jug. You need a skinny and long device for this, a turkey baster won't work, I use a plastic pipette. A long enough eyedropper would probably work too. The trick is in the handle. Your volume needs to be high enough so that your liquid goes about halfway up the milk jug handle, which is really skinny. You siphon off the top inch or so of solvent, and then tilt the milk jug away from the handle. This will push even more solvent into the handle when you set it upright again. No need to dirty up another container because the milk jug is too wide, there's a built in column that just seems made for siphoning right there on the jug already.

This is a really good tip, and one that has helped me out considerably.
