Hiya peeps Smile

Im looking for a tek that allowes for the extraction of 1000g of bark. Unfortunatly scaling up A/B teks usually ends up with loads of fatty residue and a little more spice then with a 100g tek.

Is there a way to do this?

Cheers,
V

At what sort of weight are you finding your issues with yield/fats appearing?

I’ve never had any issues just scaling up materials with extracts, my last two A/B extracts were done using 500g each time with very reasonable yields and no issues with fat.

Both extracts were done in a similar fashion to the Marsofold A/B tek. Main differences were using minimal vinegar (can’t remember exact amounts, but I did monitor pH rather that using the tek’s measurements) and filtering rather than just decanting whilst in the acid phase. Yield was just under 1% and gave nice clean spice.

I think next go I’ll be testing the BLAB but only because I fancy being more leisurely Smile

BLAB, 2 Jugs!

Pull the limonene with vinegar!

Evaporate the vinegar and heat up the acetate until it converts to freebase! (easy, just listen for the smells!)

Then, mix herbs with freebased spice oil until the proper consistency is had.

SMOKE!!!!!!!!!

I have looked at that but it seems very unclear no measurements and complicated, is there a better tutorial for the cake route?

Vularin,

You could double numbers in the BLAB and have 900 grams converted to full-spectrum spice within one week. https://wiki.dmt-nexus.m..._-_The_Big_Leisurely_A/B

my problem with BLAB is that it takes so long, and i personally dont like the brown spice Sad

With A/B i start getting lots of red fats from 400g onwards, maybe its because lye doesnt scale proportianly...

Just scale up and do 2 or 3 hot defat pulls while still in the acidic phase. You can also try sodium carbonate and distilled water washes - but I recommend you wait until you've gotten everything, then dissolve the whole yield in warm naptha and wash it all at once.

Unless you are doing something wrong, you shouldn't have any dirtier an end product than usual.

With an a/b, measuring an exact amount of lye according to a teks instructions really doesn't make much sense to me. Why not just add lye until the solution turns a slick black color? MHRB is its own ph meter Smile. Also, I've never encountered any problems with a/b on the scale that you're talking about....

My "tek" is: boil bark in a few volumes of water acidified with a dash of acid (whatever one is handy), filter, simmer to a manageable volume, filter again, add lye until it turn black and a handful of rock salt, and extract with minimal volumes of warm naphtha until it won't pull anymore. I'm staunchly anti-measuring when it comes to DMT extraction.

I do a STB in lots of 1 pound but that is because I am limited by my 1 gallon jugs. You probably could fit a kilo of MHRB into a 1G jug if you really wanted.

Just finished one up using the BLAB.

It whent real well for my first time.

2 jugs 500gms each, 1kilo mhrb. FASI precip, yeilded 18.4 grams fumerate spice total. I'm thinking it could have done better with practice, but, that aint bad for a noob like myself.

Havent converted yet to free base. I will soon though.

BLAB works great for extractions of that size.

Ice House BLAB attempt

A few day-long soaks would probably be fine (you always want to do more than one to make sure you're getting all the goods).

The rock salt is to increase the ionic strength of the water. That helps prevent emissions and it probably favors the equilibrium transfer of DMT free base ideological the aqueous phase into the naphtha. Adding an excess of lye would do the same thing but salt is cheaper.
