quick question about temperature Options

did three big naphtha pulls on my STB and got some unbelievably red colored napththa....like never before actually...but i'm not bothered by it. put all three in the freezer last night and have a very healthy crash out staring me in the face this morning. gonna pour off my excess naphtha and begin my rextal this afternoon.

i love spice...

ANYWHO- i was going to use my collected naphtha that i pour off to do a fourth pull, but here's my question:

since there may be traces of DMT still saturated in this naphtha and i have been heating my naphtha up before adding it to my tea, how much can i heat this recycled naphtha up without destroying any residual spice that's floating around in it. after this final pull i will freeze precip and then evap whatever i pour off so i'd like to get every drop....

any help would be much appreciated my brothers and sisters!

How were you able to freeze red naphtha, and not get a inch-thick of red and brown GUNK on the bottom??? When i froze my dirty naphtha, it crashed out a LOT of brownish-reddish goo, looking almost impossible to re-xstal...I had to do SEVERAL sodium carbonate washes on it before i froze until it went clear enough to freeze so it wont precip an inch of gunk with barely noticable xstals in the bottom, but a film-thin bit of reddish on the bottom of the xstals so i can do a nice re-xstal and come out with clear xstals...I cant possibly see how you would be able to just re-xstalize all that goo, without doing sodium carbonate cleanings before freezing to get about 4/5 of that gunk out...

But yea, about heating up the naphtha, don't let it go over 115F and it should be good! (I Heard)

i put it in the freezer on it's side for the first hour, then strightened it upright. gunk stuck to the side, pile of pale yellow crystals on the bottom....learned that little trick from my last extract. sodium carbonate wash won't be necessary.... Pleased

Can I ask what brand of naphta you used?
It seems not all naphtas are equal.
My favourite brand lately is Neon, its very cheap, but pulls the whitest xtals I've had in a year with little effort.
A far as I know freebase DMT has a very low boiling point so you might want a sensible temp like say something you can stand holding onto for 10 seconds.
In electronics we call it the thumb thermometer, its pretty accurate.

the bp of freebase is impossible to locate, i've searched the internet far and wide to no success. i've had great luck keeping under 60C, seems as though i dont pull any colored (jungle?) spice until i get up to about 55C.

To my thoughts, evap the naptha naturally and just collect whatevers left and rex that. why re-use possibly tainted naptha when its soo cheap
Who's this SWIM person and when do I get to meet them? They sound friken cool!

thanks gang. i wound up just doing a sodium carbonate wash and all is once again well in the world. got a good looking pile of spice crashing out in the freezer and over a half gram already rextal'd and ready to become changa. on a side note, i pulled some xylene that i had sitting in some mimosa tea for about 3+ months. it took over a month to evap but now i'm staring at a nice puddle of the most amazing looking red jungle spice ever.....i've got very special plans for this magic..... Pleased
