Sometimes my brain just won't brain... I want a work surface like the one in this screenshot but I don't have the first idea what it's called... Does anyone else use something like this? I'd like something with a fair degree of resistance to chemical spills - and probably a larger size than what's seen here.

edit: Just to be clear, I'm talking about the black mat with the drafting design on it.

I think it's called a "workbench mat."

One love
What if the "truth" is: the "truth" is indescernible/unknowable/nonexistent? Then the closest we get is through being true to and with ourselves.

A graduated cutting mat?

(Don't worry, the names of stuff often escape me too!)

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."

The resistance to chemical spills of these mats may be limited. I think organic solvents like acetone or DCM would damage the surface.
Mats made of PTFE or simply glas would last longer.
