Hi folks,
I have a DMT cart and I am eager for any tips about the procedure for my first experience. I plan to be in bed with my eyes closed/covered, and listening to calming music.
There seem to be two different approaches: go as deep as possible during my first go (three big pulls), or do a "test flight" first - take a single, long drag say, and get a feel for the effects before doing more later. I am very interested in which approach you recommend and what has worked for you.
I have gone to space on mescaline and psilocybin in the past, but it's been almost a decade. I'm sure the experience will be just as novel for me now as it was back then.
Also, when it comes to getting a battery for the cart, will any do, or is it good to have one with various settings and use the highest setting?
Cheers,
Sloth

Hey Slothbert,
I like a hybrid approach. Take one toke, wait like 15 seconds before you decide whether you take another, repeat.
Smoking in a sitting position, ready to lay back with eyes closed and dim to no light is how i go about it.
Have a warm welcome back to the eternal mystery <3

Thank you Homo, I think I will use this method. Do you recommend listening to some calming music? Will I even be able to "hear" the music where I'm going?

Hey Slothbert, also a warm welcome to the Nexus from me! I can really recommend some music. In my experience you will still be able to hear the music, even when you're in hyperspace. Prepare yourself for a remix though . To me it often feels like there's a little female DJane entity (which I have never seen, but felt the presence), really enjoying to surprise me by changing the track to something very different. Pitching it up and down, adding short bits of new sounds, etc. Only once I couldn't hear the music at all anymore, because the carrier wave was louder. I listen to ambient music without lyrics. What kind of music do you like? Edit: Here is an example of what kind of music I personally enjoy during a DMT experience: Stellardrone - invent the universeI keep on coming back for this album for this purpose. However we all have different tastes in life and you might like something completely different . ...no need to worry...

My personal approach has usually been to go big for first attempts and later on dial it back with experience. But I dont think that is the most popular advice. Everyone is different. I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

If you want to go the distance the first time, take as many hits as you can, holding each one as long as you can. The three hit number is generally an estimate. With the device you have, you can either do a simple test run with one moderate to large size hit, or do what HT suggested. The music will be different sounding than when you're sober, but will dictate aspects of the trajectory of the trip. My go-to song is You Can See Forever Ether Remix by Desert Dwellers. Welcome to the Nexus. One love What if the "truth" is: the "truth" is indescernible/unknowable/nonexistent? Then the closest we get is through being true to and with ourselves. Thanks everybody for the words of advice.
I haven't taken the plunge yet. I want to get mentally fit first.
I have been meditating daily. I also just finished Rick Strassman's book, and found his theories about parallel realities and dark matter fascinating. Somehow, they made me feel more ready.
When I do blast off, I'll post the experience here.
Thanks again
Sloth
