Looks great Art!!! Seems like it might need either more - or less - tonal variation in the bricks. I LOOOVE the coloured gears! Keep it up. Can't wait to see the final image. cheers, JBArk JBArk is a Mandelthought; a non-fiction character in a drama of his own design he calls "LIFE" who partakes in consciousness expanding activities and substances; he should in no way be confused with SWIM, who is an eminently data-mineable and prolific character who has somehow convinced himself the target he wears on his forehead is actually a shield.

Thank you, jbark. There's something kind of flat about it that I'm having a hard time pushing through, but push through I will. Either that, or I'll scrap it and go with something else. Not sure yet... On another note, I set up an account at ArtStation, and I have to say that I really like the format. If anyone is interested, I think that is going to be my main repository going forward for posting show-ready work online. I put up all my finished pieces from the past three and a half years, along with individual asset renders and turntable videos. It's kinda nice for me to see it all somewhat organized in one easily navigable space. https://www.artstation.com/artist/art_van_dlayAs my Canadian friend jbark would say, check it oot.

Thanks Art. No it's Blender. The models are not made from scratch like your stuff. I just manipulated some off the shelf models.

I love the 1950's couple gazing at your psychedelic funhouse handel. I wonder what they make of it?
I like your modern take on Kali, Yumi. She's a Kali for the internet age!
Complexity, I like you red one the best too. It strongly reminds me of how DMT visuals often seem to replicate like fractals off into infinity.

Nice @ Art Van Dlay... Such an otherworldy quality, lighting almost gives me the creeps in a good way. Drew late last night... Hi everyone! It's been a reeeeley long time and I missed you all a lot! I have not been in places, or on networks where I could post stuff here so I sort of waited, it seemed like the sensible thing to do. It took a LONG time to go through this thread, its absolutely stunning how much work is in it and the sheer variety is hard to believe. Its great to see you all! Cheers! Thank you, JB. I appreciate the feedback as always.
The only significant difference is in the bricks (although there are little changes throughout). I think I prefer the contrast when they're toned down and blue/black. It's just an easier read, I think, pushes the other elements to the foreground and feels a bit more mysterious overall. The warmer colored version is just feeling muddy to me in comparison, so I think it's going to be the second one that makes the final cut.
