Mmmmmm... Ott If I do decide to listen to an artist whilst tripping it's generally Ott. Check him out if you haven't already - Hallucinogen in Dub, Blumenkraft and Skylon are sexy albums "...It's just a ride, but we always kill those good guys that tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok, but it doesn't matter, because, it's just a ride..."

Don't know if this was mentioned as I haven't read the whole thing yet. My first launch was to "Ambient Galaxy (Disco Valley Mix) - Astral Projection", very good synchronicity with this song and DMT in my experience! Although I think silence is best. Disclaimer: All Entheogens and other research materials are not for Human consumption! I have researched by text the effects of consuming such things in case of accidental consumption. I have never actually consumed any of the materials I speak about and it should be assumed I'm speaking hypothetically. I have a wild imagination.

Well, while I have enjoyed the music I have sampled so far but may have to take a few flights w/o music, at least for a while. While spicing this evening I had a few of my favorite Brian Eno tracks and 13th floor elevators version of Baby Blue ( music I listened to on my deepest and best spice flight ) and while the music didn't sound bad or off it was just distracting to the experience and I couldn't concentrate on the experience w/ the music going. I will have to try going w/o music and may also need to stop testing the waters and take larger doses as sub-breakthrough doses leave me half here and half there and I am distracted by my body.

I recently did some mimosa tea with caapi extract. I was listening to some icaros from the CD Woven Songs of the Amazon, Healing Icaros of the Shipibo Shamans. The 1st is sung by a woman who's voice was freaky in a good way. The vibe and visuals were getting very archaic, old world symbols, swirling colors in red, gold, green. The music was also a bit overwhelming and nauseating though. I decided to switch gears and remembered someone suggesting Jonsi and Alex: Riceboy Sleeps for oral DMT on another site. The music is ethereal ambient post rock from Iceland. To me the music is beautiful, epic and has the cold grandeur of Iceland. I put it on, closed my eyes and all off the sudden the nausea disappeared. The colors changed to blues and flashing silver and icy white abstract patterns. I was flying through long hallways covered in these patterns, the silver patches shimmering. The second song is so epic I was filled with such overwhelming joy. It was beautiful. I am still moved when I hear this music, it brings back some of the experience. Highly recomended. http://www.myspace.com/jonsiandalex

I've been listening to a lot of Entheogenic lately while in a psychedelic state. The album "Spontaneous Illumination" is my particular favorite. Here's a few examples for those not familiar with them: Twilight EyesInvisible LandscapesBeyond ZeroMy mind craves nectar day and night. Like a blue lotus floating on the sea of love. Lingering in ashantic realms Lingering in the akashic realms Lingering in, lingering in the realms. Blue lotus floats, floating, floating.. Some laugh, some weep, some dance for joy. My mind craves nectar day and night.

Flying Lotus does it for me... especially the Los Angeles record, but all of his stuff is pretty good and fits the mood rather well.

I always listen to music during my trips. But finding the right music is very difficult. My first DMT experience I decided to listen to loud psy trance because I enjoy it with other types of psychedelics. This turned out to be a very bad idea. With some trial and error I found the perfect album and perfect song that really helps guide my trips to a positive peaceful place. Album: M83 - Saturdays = Youth Track: M83 - Midnight Souls Still Remain (11:10) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6nXgvS6KpIThe album is very good in general. Very nice to listen to while laying in bed and integrating. They really load on tons and tons of reverb to give all the songs a very dream like quality. Midnight Souls Still Remain is the perfect song because it is devoid of any percussion instruments and is very simple and wont distract you, it is basically some layered pads which alternate back and forth between two different chords for 11 mins straight giving a very ambient feel. The length of the song is the perfect amount of time to take a trip around the universe and be back in time before the next track starts. I will usally lay in bed integrating and listen to a couple more tracks on the album with a nice smile on my face. One of the best things I like so much about the album is it reminds me of hazy summers spent as a kid. Very nostalgic.
From Wikipedia: Saturdays = Youth, M83's fifth studio album, was released in April 2008. It was recorded with Ken Thomas (known for his work with Sigur Rós, The Sugarcubes, Boys in a Band, Cocteau Twins and Suede), Ewan Pearson (who has also produced for Tracey Thorn, The Rapture and Ladytron) and Morgan Kibby (of The Romanovs). The album features a more focused approach to song structure and form, and Gonzalez stated that the main influence of the album came from music of the 1980s: "I think that 80s music is such a brilliant period for music history. It was the occasion for me to do a tribute to this 80s music, but also a tribute to my teenage years. Because the main theme of the album is being a teenager, and being a teenager means a lot to me."
I have tried listening to bands like Cocteau Twins and they sort of work. I think your best bet is going with some minimal ambient music, long drawn out pads, devoid of percussion or much traditional structure, something you can easily ignore but sets a pleasant tone.

I haven't found myself wanting to hear music when taking journeys on the spice..Keeping in mind that when on the spice I want to go somewhere outside of reality and at that point whatever music is playing is a moot point. Having said that though I have tried some ambient/drone tracks. Drones just seem to blend into any background noise (or create a background) and assist in the transition to hyperspace without overpowering or shaping the journey. My favorite of which has been Time Machines by Coil - Time Machines is Coil's landmark drone music album, released under the alias Time Machines. It consists of 4 tracks which are composed of a single tone, called a drone. Each tone represents a certain hallucinogenic chemical (see track titles). It is similar to Brian Eno's early ambient albums, but more functional in that, instead of creating an atmosphere of calm, it facilitates time travel, according to band founder John Balance. Each tone was tested and retested in the studio for maximum narcotic potency. John Balance described the album as an attempt to "dissolve time"[1]. 1. "7-Methoxy-β-Carboline: (Telepathine)" – 23:10 2. "2,5-Dimethoxy-4-Ethyl-Amphetamine: (DOET/Hecate)" – 13:28 3. "5-Methoxy-N, N-Dimethyltryptamine: (5-MeO-DMT)" – 10:02 4. "4-Indolol, 3-[2-(Dimethylamino)Ethyl], Phosphate Ester: (Psilocybin)" – 26:51

i find every song and rythem will send you in a different direction, i honestly have never tried quiet, i cant get into the right mindset to blast. This is by far my favorite song ever, i used to just loop it. plz listen and try for your self, very empowering on dmt i find. Children -by Robert Miles (dream version).... whole cd is awsome, this is dream version without beggining garbage you get on cd. i have many others i will add later my question is do people prefer songs with lyrics or without?, because i gotta say i hate people talking near me. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kratom was used for physical labor in Thailand prior to its illegal classification.
