haha, all this NSA crap in the news always brings me back to this hilarious conclusion... People are shitting their pants knowing that there are records of all the gay porn they have ever watched out there, just waiting to be made public by a Snowden. newsflash, your not actually gay unless you embrace the lifestyle. Watching porn or even trying it out is natural behavior & its your right to explore and choose what you like & how to live your life. porn should be taken in context, its not real and should be used sparingly. Develop connections and find whats right for you.. in the real world. That said, i think every man should own a fleshlight, it will keep you from making bad/hasty decisions on the reality front. ..or not know you are gay. Do all homosexuals embrace a specific lifestyle? Do all heterosexuals embrace a specific lifestyle? Do all asexuals embrace a specific lifestyle? What you don't understand, you can make mean anything. - Chuck P.

Yeah, kind of an odd thing to say armbarsalot... If a man sexually prefers men but isn't engaged in the "lifestyle" (whatever that is!), he's not gay? Are you differentiating between homosexuality and being gay? Meaning (and I may be misinterpreting your use of "lifestyle" ) that to be gay you must be overtly effeminate or leather chappy or or fit into any of the other stereotypes? Most gay men I know and frequent are none of these things and would probably scoff at you refusing to call them gay. At the OP: Good for you! I don't think internet porn is inherently bad (in fact I would argue it can very healthy uses), but it does have the potential for abuse which in my experience can cause a disconnect with other people. And it sounds like you need to get out there and get more involved and active. yeah, not the best choice of words. I don't consider anyone 'gay' unless they identify as such. Not, oh you watched some gay porn you must be gay, or had a 'experience' with some frat boys in college. "Keep your friends close but your elbows closer." Unknown

Gotcha. That makes more sense to me. Wow what happened to this thread? To clarify, I meant that nothing has really changed in that department. I just don't think I care all that much, as in don't care about getting laid. I think it may have to do with the fact that it's never something I've tied into my self-esteem, so it doesn't really make any difference to me. It seems to have to do with my personality, so it's whatever. "Culture is NOT your friend" - TMK

That's pretty positive from where I stand. What you don't understand, you can make mean anything. - Chuck P.

I hadn't seen this talk before, but it's right on the money. I've had issues with porn in the past and also drugs that work heavily on dopamine. Once I realized that this issue can actually be categorized as an addictive behavior (because it triggers that dopamine response) it made complete sense. This talk is worth a watch. He brings up some very important points about internet porn such as this current generation seeking it out at a very early age, ten years or even younger, and how this endless novelty can literally change the brains of young male adults. That during early pubescence and teenagehood these paths are formed and they can be harder to reverse or repair than someone who is an older man, say in his forties or fifties. So it's more potentially harmful to young males than older males. And how do we really know how watching porn everyday affects us over the long term? The video kind has only been around for less than a hundred years. (Sorry, a little more than a hundred years ) http://redux.com/view/post/3126653/World-s-First-Ever-Porn-Film-1897Also something interesting that he says in the talk is that males tended to not have as much of a problem with porn, straying into addictive behavior, until they had access to high speed internet But the point raised above links to that as well. These young dudes growing up with high speed internet and endless quantities of free porn...how is something like that going to affect them later in life? Erectile dysfunction, intimacy issues, etc. ???

so it doesn't really make any difference to me. It seems to have to do with my personality, so it's whatever. This thread has evolved which is no bad thing. If getting laid doesn"t make a difference why did you start a thread on it??? I"ve wasted minutes of my life trawling my mental archives in order to help and now you say "so it"s whatever"??? At the end of the day pornography wasn"t destroying your sex life because it sounds like you didn"t have a sex life to destroy. I want you to be happy and fulfilled and the reason i give my hard won advice is not because i know better but because i have messed up in many ways when it comes to the pleasures of the flesh (or lack thereof). It"ll come when you meet the right girl. Sooner or later.

What I meant by "it's whatever" is that it's a bit more complicated of an issue than just watching porn, which I've determined isn't really the problem, which is a good realization to come to. So this thread did accomplish something for me, and maybe I'll move on to bigger and better things, or maybe not. Either way, it may not have a huge impact on my psychological well-being, and that's what I really meant by "it doesn't make a difference" to me. "Culture is NOT your friend" - TMK

And if you are not psychologically challenged by either the lack of sex or the desire for it i am happy for you!

I'm too tired to read the thread, but I saw this recently and I think it's relevant. And very interesting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSF82AwSDiUPorn does you no good. And don't worry bro. You're just 22. You have a lot of time to shag later. You know old people have sex โโโโโโ
