Way to go Soulfood! it is my humble opinion that The Smiths are one of the greatest pop groups of all time, up there with all the more mentioned heavy hitters. I once wrote an essay on the song "This Charming Man". Seriously good band!

I'm with you dude. I had a crazy beautiful experience with a few close friends outside near a river in the summer on LSD with Meat is Murder playing like 13 years ago. Man I just got the shivers. Very sublime stuff, caught in an endless shimmery wavy lush soundscape of pop songs. I love Johnny Marr, and Morrisey's voice sounds otherworldly at times.

This specific song is a favorite of my wife and I. I love playing that baseline Smile

xx - crystalised, here's the kexp studio version

ummm, not as good with the description thing, a little like a new groovy Chris Issac sound.

Also, in the right window on the youtube site, see Pale Horses by Moby, it's good too.

They are both hypnotic.

Hmm, adventure-y songs. I like those too. David Arkenstone and kitaro were incredible artists to me when I was a kid. Here are a couple of tunes that I used to listen to daily, from Chrono Trigger and Xenogears, original scores by Yasunori Mitsuda.

just click play preview to the right, and the whole song will play

i used to listen to this and drink cough syrup, take pills, etc and close my eyes, friends always loved it that way too
Xenogears - The one who bares fangs at god

here's the incredibly delightful chrono cross theme song, short but beautiful
youtube - chrono ross theme

Chrono Trigger
OC Remix - Chrono Trigger

there's a interesting jazz piano version of the above also on that site

And it wouldn't be a complete list without this one either, saw this one performed by symphony, they played it twice,
youtube - one winged angel

I grew up fiening for my friends CDs (japanese game music) that he always bought while visiting his folks in California. Thank god for the internet.

I really like this tune (the cut up singing at the 2:30 mark is so good). It gets a little cheesy at the end, but is still really nice.

I put this in its own thread but should have just posted it here really. Such a groovy tune and the samples in it are very familiar Wink.......

These guys have been a favorite of mine for about 5 years now. Saw them live at two small venues in Bellingham and got my ticket stub and an album cover signed. Real nice people.

Don Carlos is such good vibe music, all the animals I have love when he is playing and get real chill.
