Well.... there are many things to consider....
I think many of us have experienced similar scenarios. When I first got involved with DMT, I was very excited about my experiences. I was more open about discussing the experiences, sometimes, maybe too enthusiastic. Not every one can relate, and this can be frustrating. A friend of mind gave me some good advice after my first break through... "Leave room for others to grow around you." To me, this meant: I have experienced something that is incredibly unique. It's not an old practice, but it is rather new to many people of the Western world. It is not going to be something that someone understands unless they have experienced it first hand.
So, when I first started getting into it, the experiences were so profound, and the changes were drastic, some people were concerned about the potential for DMT to have induced some mania.... I admitt, I was pretty obsessive at first. I wanted to talk about it. But, to some, it was too much, or "crazy-talk."
In hindsight, I look back and see that I could have handled it differently, and spoken about it in a much more appropriate manner.
In time, I learned that I too had a lot of growing to do.
Instead of announcing my thoughts on the matter, I reserve them untill prompted. I.e. A person would not hear my opinion of DMT (or that I have experuienced it at all) unless they brought the conversation up. If they do not bring it up, then we likely will not get on that topic, and no explanation is needed. However, if THEY bring it up, I try to explain things in an objective manner first, and if they are still interested, then mention some of the subjective views and experiences.
When I start talking about the experience of DMT before any of the facts about the compound's potential health risks/benefits, I found that people were more likely to think I was "crazy" and ignore the factual information. But when I explain some of the medical information first, people seemed to be accepting of experience reports...
Any ways, Good luck!
Sometimes it's good for a change. Other times it isn't.
