I havent smoked 5meo, but from what i read here, nn-Dmt is way more gentle (esp. changa, slowly smoking higher).

Ha I've read that before. And octopi and cephalopods do seem to crop up for people in psychedelic experiences, particularly with mushrooms it seems. My friend got embraced by a large, benevolent and curious hyperdimensional cuttlefish having smoked DMT on LSD in the woods on a beautiful summers day while we were sitting by a stream. We both figured out that day the power of vocalising/throat singing and how profound an effect it can have on DMT, and also mushrooms and ayahausca.

But yeah I highly recommend looking into Copelandia, amazing mushrooms in my opinion, well at least the Hawaiian strain with which I'm familiar. Would be really interested to hear what you make of them. I think that time with the octopus I ingested 2g of rue powder. I got the feeling the octopus was more the mushroom side of the equation there and the rue was just powering it up a bit but who knows.

I'm a big mushroom fan, I think its my most highly revered psychedelic actually and are very special to me. I have a lot of reverence for ayahuasca too but so far to me it seems like I have mainly paddled in the shallow end, not sure I've been out into the deep ocean with it yet. Plan on heading to the Amazon next year I think. Also have some Chalipnga brew I hope to be exploring soon.

I've met these cephalopods a couple of times since i started my apprenticeship in the shroom school of life.

At first i was like EEWWWW!!! go away, but since then they convinced me that they are nice to have around. They were always lovely and cuddling.

2 years ago i tried cannabis for the first time.
yes, i am a very fucking late bloomer ;-)
anyways, as I took this large inhalation of a very, very small amount of AK-47 week,
I could immediately feel consciousness start to expand.
For all self-aware psychonauts, this is a very clear feeling.
The field of conscious-awareness starts to expand and intensify.
Suddenly I had the urge to throat-sing.
I had no particular reason, it just came spontaneously.
I was throat singing long vowels sounds ... aaaaa eeeeee oooo etc.
suddenly i sense i was in a field of consciousness, however it wasn't my personal consciousness, it was a very very ancient field of consciousness.
it felt vast, ancient and feminine.
And when i realized that i immediately know it was the consciousness of cannabis.
The plant is the physical form.
However, the consciousness of cannabis is extremely vast, ancient and feminine.
Turn out when i was researching later that the its only the FEMALE cannabis plant that has the psyho-active effects.
Anyway, the Cannibis consciousness began to merge with my personal consciousness and show me and tell me about her.

That's my story with throat singing.
I tried it on other ocasions with cannabis but it didn't work.

It was the combination of Rue and Shrooms which brought me to whistling, singing and chanting.
The first time i did this combination it was a littlebit too much on my body, i had to lay down. The CEVs where incredibla fast, unusual fast for shrooms (the rue did this).
It looked like an Brainscan-image, like i could see my neurons firing.
I got a littlebit uncomfortable and anxious, when i got an sudden insight to make sound.
When i did, the fast chaotic visuals turned into slowly morphing golden and red stripes.
Everything turned wonderful.
When i stopped i saw decay and rotten flesh.
So i didn't, for at least 45 min.

Later in that trip, i was floating over an incredible landscape, at first it was like an magic carpet ride, me steering with my thoughts, but then i realized i could change everything with my thoughts like zapping through channels on a TV.

It was wonderful.
Tbh i think i don't want to take shrooms anymore without a decent dose of Rue in my bloodstream.

Last week, i took my last shroom( 0.9 gr ) with 3g Rue, and tried throat singing. I got the impression that i got somewhere with it (me getting better at creating overtones), but the effect on my mind was to weak (the whole trip was to weak since i ran out of resources)
I also think i did too much shrooms in the last 6 weeks, so my tolerance is skyhigh.

Ha very cool pic/tatoo man! And yeah both my friend's and my encounters were with cephalopods that seemed to be benevolent and curious/playful, would like to hang out with them more... Sounds like the praying mantids are the ones you need to watch out for! Am fascinated by the cephalapods of our dimension as it is, think they are amazing creatures, and so alien. Loved that clip man, very powerful that throat singing!

My friend just spontaneously started vocalising on LSDMT, and when I smoked and launched into the space I did too, and the effect it had on the experience was amazing. It seemed to ground and guide the experience...I wasn't a helpless passenger through crazy realms, it was more like I could navigate and direct my way through the space, almost like I was in a little bubble or pod that buffered me from the chaos. When I returned I felt reborn, we both did, we had this incredible feeling of bliss and piece. That DMT trip was the most beautiful I've ever had, bar my breakthrough. Also having one foot already in that world really takes a lot of the fear away when launching...this was funny to us as we'd been putting off smoking the DMT while tripping that day but it was so much smoother and less jarring that smoking it can be while sober.

We both essentially made vocal droning noises, similar to how your describe, something along the lines of throat or overtone singing. It felt quite natural to do and instinctive/intuitive at the time. I have since used this with mushrooms, ayahuasca, and smoked and snorted DMT with great success. It doesn't seem to work well with other things for some reason, at least in my experience. But the effect on these has been profound. When I snorted DMT (ouch!) it felt instinctive to do it, and I could conjur entire visual realms out of the void through sound. Another time on mushrooms my friend was vocalising and it was affecting the visual architecture of my experience! Haven't done this for a while now, but have a feeling it may come into its own when I sample some rue and Chaliponga brew...

That experience with cannabis sounds amazing! On the rue and shrooms front I've had some amazing experiences, I haven't done it for a while though. It can definitely be more intense on the system than mushrooms alone, but it can be very rewarding. I can recall fast moving CEV's too when I have combined the too. That is cool about the magic carpet ride...rue is used to dye carpets and is likely connected to the original flying carpet myth! I've also had the ability to change the visual architecture of the trip with my thoughts on this mix.

During one of my journeys I was outside in the evening looking up at the stars and I began to take small foot steps toward this magnificent old tree, the ground began to radiate this azure blue florescent light which would pulse from each foot step that I took. I could see all the veins in my body which where all connected to my heart glowing and flowing through the grass and the earth towards the energy epicenter within the tree. I was blissfully connected with every living thing on earth and I could feel the tree breath in unison to the same rhythm of my breathe and my heart beat. It was truly one of the most profound entheogen journeys I have experienced as the joy coursing through me was ecstatic and pure.

I was living in Colorado and I saw David Hykes in concert.
At the time I was not considering or taken any psychedlics, was heavily involved in the Gurdjieff school (4th Way Path) for almost 10 years, and had done many years of Vajrayana and Dzogchen meditation.
On that night, suddenly I felt the whole room light up in fluorescent color. It was a radical shift in consciousness. And I knew I had to get back to learning this toning.

The Cannabis consciousness was amazing.
She was literally telling me
"I am more ancient that you can imagine" And suddenly I could feel her showing me a timeline, not visually, but telepathically, and pointing where on the timeline human consciousness had arisen. It was a very small portion of that timeline.
Then she showed me how it is her consciousness and the consciousness of other plants that had been instructing and growing and evolving the human consciousness.
This wasn't a hazy thought. This was crystal clear.
It is by merging our consciousness with the consciousness of these plants that we have been evolving.

For the reductionist materialist scientist, cannabis, mushrooms, ayahuasca, it all boils down to chemicals.
But it is in their particular vast consciousness that so much is shown to us.

Now I don't use cannabis, because I also saw how difficult it was to access her consciousness.
And how easy it is to have an experience of cannabis without her consciousness being present.
And the feeling is vastly different.

I have yet to have an experience with mushroom where the consciousness of the mushroom is not supremely evident and definitely unfolding the journey.

In another thread I started, several people said that LSD lends itself to a "solo" journey without this merging of another wiser consciousness.
This I want to investigate and try.

best shroom experience here was listening to pink floyds discography on loop and laying in a pitchblack room for the length of the trip. Leave the body and mind out of it and sink into the music. unforgettable.

Well played man. Will be interested to hear about how you get on. Really interesting to hear about your meditation and cannabis experiences and the insights from them as well. LSD is different I think in that it's like a mirror or transparent amplifier, it does have its own character but distinct from the earthy psychedelics, which to me seem more 'other' in nature. My friend and I have both tried vocalising on LSD and it didn't have much effect. This is interesting as I'm otherwise very sensitive to sound on LSD, but not self generated sound it seems. In our experience with vocalising it seems like there is something special about DMT and psilocybin, and it seems more intuitive in these states, and they happen to be very closely related molecules.

Last night thanks to you i finalize learnt the basics of overtones.
I kept at it till 2am.
Went to sleep and had the most color-filled dream, with a cosmic theme to it.
I don't remember the dream exactly but I remember the richness of color.
And I don't recall every having color or cosmic themed dreams.

Today I found some research on the overtones affecting the Pineal gland!
Hence, the dream.
And also why it somehow affects the tryptamine journey as DMT is greatly enhanced and released in these journeys.

Also another effect of the overtones is a remarkable feeling freshness and energy.

This is a whole area of research going forward ... overtones and DMT.

But the best Insight I got on mushrooms was when I watched a video I recorded of me and my x girlfriend, we lived together and shared a lot, a beautiful relationship. I watched it 3 month's after she moved out, it was hard to watch it on mushrooms but I could see how "fake" I acted with here, the mask, how far from myself I had become. I can't explain, it was something..

The time a friend and me tripped pretty hard on Psilocybe and communicated with thoughts - telepathy, the mushroom also controlled my body, I moved my arms in the air with my fingers "drawing" something, and I also made strange sounds. The mushroom was speaking to me, The best experience so far.

They showed me how we are part of nature.
