I had never even seen DMT before I extracted it in ~2010 and I had been wanting to try it since I had heard of it in the 90's.

It finally got to the point where I wanted to try it enough that I decided to extract it myself. It seemed if I couldn't find DMT on the street why not just retrieve it from nature? So that is exactly what I did.

I've never bought DMT and I've learned enough off the Nexus that I am fairly certain I will never have to. Strangely, after I started extracting my own I actually came across a few people selling it. Odd timing since I spent an entire decade searching and it didn't turn up until I had extracted my own.

I also extracted for my first time after watching DMT:TSM, doing a bunch of research, failing a few times, then finally succeeding 6 months later. I'd say it's much better this way because you feel like you have earned the right to explore hyperspace, something the casual user might not have if they are acquiring spice via some other means.

I think you might find a lot of people here have only smoked spice they extracted themselves. I know this is true in my case.

I Did my own first extraction as around here DMT was unheard, it was actually quite fun.

I have helped and taught many on how to do their own extractions, and still need to help a few. All I ask in return is that they regale me with the tales of their journeys and respect the spice as we all do.

I think it makes the experience much more personal knowing that you've extracted the DMT yourself.

I was at a house party..a psytrance party, in a house. I don't know who lived there..I didn't know anyone there. I just went there with a friend whos friend knew about it. I ate some mushrooms and was dancing with neon glow lights everywhere and this dj playing..

This guy comes up to me absolutely bug eyed. Cargo pants and no shirt. He had been jumping around all weird on this table prior to that moment. He had this weird Gilligan like hat on with long hair and unshaven facial hair. He kind of looked like a half crazed maniac.

He was motioning me to go downstairs with him. I have no idea why this guy came up to me out of all the people at his place..but he looked at me with these eyeball sized pupils bulging out of his face like a bullfrog and whispered into my ear "DMT".

Well, I was tripping on mushrooms and knew all about DMT..so I wasn't about to go down into the basement with this guy and smoke some random amount of that stuff while peaking on that dose of mushrooms.

Anyway, yes I extracted my own..later.

Probly a good thing too. By the time I would have been blasting off to god knows where with all those mushrooms in me, the cops were arriving because some woman ran like an insane person through the living room window and people were fighting in the lawn.

I extracted for my first time as well, I had the opportunity but wanted my own supply and to experiment alone. Also I don't trust psychedelics from most people other then about 2 people in my life.

And Jamie crazy story, I couldn't even imagine getting busted while in hyperspace, would probably seem like the hyper police were coming and taking you to hyper prison lmao

I hummed and hawed over extracting for literally years before doing it. I was offered it once in the past but didn't trust the source. I waited until I could extract my own to try it.

I see it much like growing your own plants, psychoactive or not. It has that rewarding feeling, the "I helped make this" proud sort of feeling. I can't help but feel a wee bit of pride when I look at a pretty changa blend I've made

I did not, but I wish I had. I remember encountering it one time, a couple of years before I ever tried it. I was at the home of my partner in crime (literally), and I noticed a good-sized bag of big, yellow shards on his counter. He told me it was DMT, which I had heard of but didn't know much about. I think he said I could try it, but I wasn't really eager to. This happened back when I was super strung-out, so I didn't have much interest in psychedelics at the time anyways. Some time in the next couple of weeks after that I remember watching someone, who had never touched a psychedelic in their life, unknowingly take a hit from the pipe that had a bunch of DMT left in it. I think he thought there was hash in it or something. Lucky for him, he had a relatively mild experience.

My first couple of times smoking DMT were the product of someone else's extraction, some greedy person who I didn't directly know, and they were horrible. It required a very large dose (partly because of my technique and partly because it was so impure), and it tasted terrible. I could taste the DMT, but it also just tasted wrong. Like there was something in there that shouldn't have been in there, which there probably was.

After that I did my homework and found Noman's tek on Erowid, then soon after I found The Nexus and lurked for a couple years before creating an account, then lurked for another year before actually starting to post and reciprocate for some of the knowledge that had been so graciously given to me.

I have shared doses with a couple of people. I would agree that there is nothing wrong with a person being gifted their first couple of experiences if they are curious and merely dabbling. I have since shown the two people who have really enjoyed/benefited from it the most how to do a basic extraction.
