While we had the pleasure of her company, my breakthrough 'portal' always included (a form of...) our cat, seen from behind, tail erect and starfish sparkling. She would turn her head back over her shoulder and wink, just before things really took off.

But since she passed, no more...

Cats are definitely 'in the zone' IME.

Cats certainly are interesting creatures.. The ancient egyptians revered cats and some ancient cultures believed them to be of divine essence. I tend to lean towards the idea that cats are kind of mystic and can sense our energy more than we think.

Interestngly, many of my trips contain cats or catlike creatures and always seem to have an ancient familiar feel. While I'm in I never think of them as "cats" when I see them but "felines" rather. Maybe they have more of a psychic connection to us than we understand?

I'm reviving a thread so old that I feel a bit like a necromancer but I figured there was no need to start a new one; and I wanted to share my experience and hoped for other similar anecdotes.

There we go: it's really weird but very often right before I'm about to vape DMT, it seems like my cat knows it. He could be on the other side of the flat but once I start loading my metal mesh he comes right next to me (up to the point where I've had to stop more than once for fear he'd inhale some while loading it, however improbable that is). And I don't think it's the smell, either - this has happened before I even opened the glass pot where I keep it. I think about vaping, get the pot, and there he comes. It's not every time, but really most of the time. It's very freaky.

Also, while tripping, he'll usually stay not far from me and watch me intently (which makes for some very funny visual effects during the come up / at small doses).

Anyone else experience this (beyond the people that already posted in this thread - some of whom tend to confirm I'm not alone) ?

i had my first experience involving my cat just the other day. i started looking for other experiences and landed here, so i am reviving the old thread again
i have a somewhat similar experience to you.

usually when i plan on visiting hyperspace i will wait until my cats have left the room and i will close the door so they cant get back in while i am tripping. the reason is that i do not know what my body is going to do while i am tripping, so i shut them out so they do not get hurt in any way.

this time my cat was curled up on a chair on the other side of the room fast asleep and she was obviously not moving any time soon. i felt guilty waking her and making her move so i left her there.
my thought was "she is asleep on the other side of the room, i will be laying on the sofa and i never move around the room on DMT so she will be fine" and i went ahead and did it with her in the room.

i smoked my dose and started my journey through the web of confusion, but before i got to the gate my cat appeared! she was stopping me from going any deeper, like she was protecting me.
i think she must have been on my mind and i was worried about having her in the room for the first time because it triggered anxiety during the trip. luckily i managed to recognise it and take deep breaths and relax myself again before things got nasty.
maybe she was protecting me from whatever gave me the bad feelings? but i think most likely it was me being worried about her.

weirdly, the entities i wanted to visit came to see me on my side of the gate, which is very rare for me. i will sometimes hear/feel them on my side of the gate but i can never communicate with them the way i did this time. i was grounded enough to know i was in my living room and i could see the things in my living room, yet the entities were there with me.

maybe there was a being that was not so nice waiting for me on the other side of the gate, or maybe its simply just a matter of being too worried about my cat to allow myself to go far enough.

the weirdest part was when i came back and looked over at my cat. her forehead was glowing so bright! with a beam-like glow coming from it, right where you would typically see the pineal gland being depicted.
she was still laying comfortably and not even looking at me. she had woken up but not moved, at least not far enough for me to notice.

just as i thought my mind was blown enough, i looked over to another chair in the room and another one of my cats was staring at me with her posture focused on me with intent. she was not in the room when i left and i did not know she had come in the room, but once i realised she was staring at me i smiled at her and she relaxed and layed down.
this could also just be because i was speaking and moving around during my trip and she was watching me out of confusion.

i can offer simple solutions to all of this, but the way it felt was much deeper than that. i thanked them both very much for watching over me and keeping me safe.
i think now i might believe thats why cats are here. it is a common theory that i have not given much thought until that day.

cats definitely know what's up with deems. the first time I noticed, I was smoking my vape, and as I blew the smoke out my cat turned his head and started purring at me. I've had him turn up when I've gotten my deems out, he's my best trip sitter.

He's never entered a trip with me, but he's always stood guard. hes also bit me once as I was lifting the vape to my mouth. kind of like a warning, that I took.
