Doing the best job I can while in the Airforce

Hey uftusaf123,

Haven't noticed you around, but this caught my eye. Just a friendly warning: be careful with the USAF and psychoactive substances. They do not look kindly on usage and I believe the penalty for a serviceman is much more severe than a civilian.

Another word of caution: If you choose to explore these realms you might consider staying away from RCs like 2C-B. It is highly unlikely a dose of LSD or DMT or shrooms will send you to the hospital as they have relatively good safety profiles. However, the slightest mixup in RCs and you'll find yourself in a bad position if admitted to a hospital. As you know, they monitor all your health records and a trip to the ER while serving would make a pretty bad year.

Best to you in 2013. And, thanks for serving.

Thanks for the friendly warning a1pha. I should have been more specific in my post. Im not planning on doing any illegal substances while in the airforce. I have experienced DMT while on inactive reserve, but now as active duty, im not taking any chances. Once my 4 years are up.. that's another story Thumbs up

I dont believe new year resolutions should be based upon the calendar, but I like the idea of them. A specific time during the revolution of earth around the sun in which the whole population re-evaluates the entire year and thinks of things they could do to better themselves. Acting upon that idea is another story... but the first step in fixing a problem, is admitting you have a problem.

That is probably a similar way to how I would view it. Whether you choose to have goals/resolutions to achieve for the new year/based of a calender or not is cool it neither makes you stupid or smart, good or bad, right or wrong.

I believe change is always happening and it is apart of our growth that w experience here on this earth, and we are doing this regardless of having or setting resolutions or not. Its great to see so many people on here who have so many positive goals and resolutions for there futures. Big grin

exactly, this notion is my newyears resolution,to try to stop worrying about time, and just focus on the here and now, not the past not the future, the moment is what matters so try to make the most out of it, much love to u all, happy 2013 Smile

This. I work for a frozen foods distributor as a side job detailing product, and when he told me we would be moving a ton of the "skinny cow" ice cream from peoples new years resolutions to eat healthy, lose weight, whatever, i busted up laughing.

Kinda like how it takes christmas/thanksgiving/birthdays, for family members to communicate/spend time with each other (not in all cases of course).

If it takes an arbitrary date to implement lifestyle changes, well that just makes me think of something i heard, can't remember where, "tomorrow, that magical place where theres unlimited time/willpower/energy to get all the stuff you've been avoiding done".

Its like, ok, i'll overeat and consume massive amounts of alcohol/drugs tonignt, but next year it will be different. If you can't muster the willpower when the thought arises, its useless. Or as tom clancy once said iirc, no matter how important a thought is, its worthless unless you wright it down.

"let those who have talked to the elves, find each other and band together" -TMK

In a society in which nearly everybody is dominated by somebody else's mind or by a disembodied mind, it becomes increasingly difficult to learn the truth about the activities of governments and corporations, about the quality or value of products, or about the health of one's own place and economy.
In such a society, also, our private economies will depend less upon the private ownership of real, usable property, and more upon property that is institutional and abstract, beyond individual control, such as money, insurance policies, certificates of deposit, stocks, etc. And as our private economies become more abstract, the mutual, free helps and pleasures of family and community life will be supplanted by a kind of displaced citizenship and by commerce with impersonal and self-interested suppliers...
The great enemy of freedom is the alignment of political power with wealth. This alignment destroys the commonwealth - that is, the natural wealth of localities and the local economies of household, neighborhood, and community - and so destroys democracy, of which the commonwealth is the foundation and practical means.โ€ - Wendell Berry

I'll keep my resolution doable: gonna start a painting today.

I agree about making life changing decisions on an arbitrary date, and then ignoring them: extra silly.

Instead, from time to time (at randomly occurring moments) I'll take a minute to try imagining being within the viewpoint of my idealistic ten-year-old self. Looking at my current life from that perspective, how do I score? Don't want to disappoint the little guy.

I cannot really have bigger resolutions without messing everything up, so I will be sticking to 1440x900 in my left screen and 1920x1080 in the right one. I'm doing fine with those anyways.
