When DMT was new to me, like my 7th experience, my friend and I decided to go big. We wanted breakthroughs and thought that a big dose was the only way to have one. We had planned on doing 60mg each. I made it to 45mg but couldn't talk myself into going any higher. He took almost the entire 60mg and broke through indeed. He didn't get the experience he thought he would though, his was a good learning experience but scary and sad as well. It shook him up. He wasn't the same for around two weeks. I was sure he wasn't going to dose again.
He came out of it eventually, but had the attitude that DMT wasn't for him. He has since dosed many times and has had many awesome experiences. We took mushrooms last summer and something about the fire reminded him of his bad DMT trip. I could tell it was hard to deal with.
My first breakthrough was with 20mg. I've had multiple breakthroughs on 15mg, 20, 25, and most recently 28mg. This to me is why measuring is important. I've dosed without measuring as well. But this way I can fine tune it and get the sweet spot. 25-28mg seems to be it with my current device.
Going big is not always the best route. It seems it has been the cause of more bad DMT trips by members on this forum. Usually new people.
Since my first breakthrough, my pre dose anxiety has lessened quite substantially. Partially due to the fact that I dose in automation. I'm moving my body, loading and vaporizing without much thought, while feeling some anxiety. Before it was difficult to talk myself into dosing. It's fairly easy for me now. I have great respect for DMT but in a nonchalant way. I don't hold it in high regard but I am fairly traditional in how I use it. I think it doesn't astonish me as much now, well it does just differently. M in it for the experience and it is a great tool. And looking at it in the way I do has helped ease my nervousness.
