Porcupine Tree is my all time favorite band. They have been making music since the late 80's to today. They have a lot of tones similar to Pink Floyd, and is generally melancholy type sound, but somehow it is never a downer to listen to. The spirit of the music is some how uplifting. They have played everything from psychedelic to heavy rock. Their psychedelic stuff is really good, electronic mixed with guitar. Try: Synesthesia Dark Matter Waiting Phase 1 There is hardly a song I don't enjoy, and many I absolutely love out of 20 hours of their music. My advice, sometimes the music is needed, sometimes not. Be an adult only when necessary.

Had to sign up and chime in with some recommendations. Psybient music is basically a must for my journeys, the general pitter-patter in a busy city/noisy neighbors have negatively impacted some of my low dose experiences. Although, when a fly started buzzing around my head and it had an amazing echo and techie vibe to it. Somewhat of a pleasant surprise that even our most hated nemesis can be welcomed while experiencing the most beautiful thing imaginable. The perfect thing about psybient music is that most of the songs are 10+ minutes, and when you blast off they completely transform in the most amazing way. pick any song you like. dont think about it too hard the experience will be equally mystifying Usually I like to pick music that ive had a strong emotional attachment to at some point in life. Then again, I dont really like to listen to music smoking DMT, but that goes for any intense experience Expect nothing, Receive everything. "Experiment and extrapolation is the only means the organic chemists (humans) currrently have - in contrast to "God" (and possibly R. B. Woodward). " He alone sees truly who sees the Absolute the same in every creature...seeing the same Absolute everywhere, he does not harm himself or others. - The Bhagavad Gita "The most beautiful thing we can experience, is the mysterious. The source of all true art and science."

I would play some music before breaking through. Then breackthrough in complete silence and then again, when coming down and you are able to operate music devices. Actually that´s the best moment for playing music, i feel. The moment you´re more or less getting all your senses toghether again, is the moment music starts making sense.

I mentioned this in another music thread, I recommend the album Night Song by Nusrat Fateh Ali Kahn and Michael Brook. Here's a sample Really, anything by Nusrat Fateh Ali Kahn gets me there, but this one has some nice electronics. The micro tonal vocals are an awesome thing to see. Images of broken light, Which dance before me like a million eyes, They call me on and on...

Two nights ago I was up late and decided to end my night with DMT. I just bought this album especially for the DMT Journey.
Meditation Drum by David and Steve Gordon. It was everything I had hoped it would be. Also kept me very calm and grounded prior to "blast off". It's a mix of nature sounds, tribal drumming, and various other tribal instruments.

I very rarely will have music breaking through as I find it hinders on my concentration a bit. as others have said though I love playing music on midrange doses though and find it to be great mediation. i don't like too prominent a beat when hyperspacing though.. something nice and chilled like shpongle, boards of canada or mental extentions.. ott can go nice too ..a great track for journeys is a hidden track in "solstice" by hallucinogen on his album 'twisted'....its not till around 16 minutes.. or if you can download just that bonus track it makes a great piece of ambience to blast off to. deepy emotional, shamanic and slightly middle eastern vibe to it. so good on LSD too

For me lately, I find that "Ocean" by John Butler is amazing played on low volume when vaping spice and breaking through. Not only is it ABSOLUTELY AMAZING musically, it is also 12 minutes long, which is perfect for a breakthrough, because its still playing when you come back to reality Check out this video, newest version of it (he has been playing it for years, and it evolves and changes, very cool) Check out his other stuff too, he has great messages in his songs, and very catchy too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdYJf_ybyVo

I broke through in silence for the first time.
I heard the sound of the universe. It was indescribable
I think i'll stick to silence for a while
I'm still having trouble remembering all of my voyage though

Thanks for all the vids/songs people posted. One thing that kinda suprised me reading everyones comments was that alot of you preferred to go to hyperspace in silence rather then listening to music. To me I'm the exact opposite, I almost have to have some type of music playing in the background as I take off. I have seen that the type of music I play will kinda be the "theme" to my trip. For instance if I play darker music I'll see darker images. When I play the beatles or something like that I'll have hearts floating towards me. Does anyone have a similar take on this? As far as music goes here's a couple I love listening to. http://youtu.be/dR3ccmWmLhk - Puscifer - momma sed Though I love listening to Puscifer in general when I blast off. I think his music is a perfect match for spice. http://youtu.be/TLjrD-oXkhA <------ my fav song to travel to. , ^^^^Love all of those guys. Ott, Kayla Scintilla, Bonobo, Amon Tobin are good too. Sometimes I'm in the mood for a little more futuristic style I'll go with Tipper, Vibesquad, OPIUO etc. Lately though Ive been kicking it old school. Check out a few of these gems from back in the day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kxuAZictJ4http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhxdnq_1OcMhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1UOPuTanfU[]DEACE I am completely convinced that there is a wealth of information built into us, with miles of intuitive knowledge tucked away in the genetic material of every one of our cells. Something akin to a library containing uncountable reference volumes, but without any obvious route of entry. And, without some means of access, there is no way to even begin to guess at the extent and quality of what is there. The psychedelic drugs allow exploration of this interior world, and insights into its nature. - Shulgin
