Demonoid was subject to many DDoS attacks, and was hit by a particularly devastating one shortly before the thought police officially shut it down.
It would be naive to assume governments aren't willing and able to use these tactics against websites they consider a threat, including the Shroomery.

Hmmmm....

This has got me thinking....

Would it be possible to write a program that allows members of The Nexus to download all of the contents of the forum and Wiki periodically in case it ever comes under attack?

It would capture a snapshot of The Nexus.

Or even one that updates?

Good thinking wearepeople. I just found this great resource and would hate to lose it before I absorbed some the knowledge it provides. I found a site (http://www.web2pdfconvert.com/) to start turning some of the teks into PDFs so I'll have them just in case!

Actually it wasn't law enforcement specifically, it was the International Association of Greedy Ass Musicians that took credit for the attack according to Interpol

Looks like the Shroomery is back up Big grin

Glad its downtime was a fraction of ours when we were DDoS'd and that we could return the favor and provide an alternative for those affected.
