when i see those patterns on everything and myself i know it as "jesus juice" i see this except its gooey and the patterns dilate and revolve transforming into new symbols of squares circles and x's

so if it were me, id go with "jesus juice"

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

This is really amazing work. The purple patters are very familiar to me on DMT.

Very familiar, countless times being catapulted, rocketed, launched, torpedoed, shot through as well as one account climbing up those tunnels.

really feeling this piece, thank you for sharing.

Incredible and inspiring. All the effort sure paid off, it is a beautiful piece.

I love the building of detail as it reached the peak. The bottom reminds me of the primordial ooze from which many of my visions emerge.

Phenomenal work on the patterning!
The inner soul is full of joy. Reveal my secrets and sew me whole. With each day, "I" heeds your call.
You may not care the slightest and may not be the brightest, but from here "I" sees you're mighty for you created it all.

And the jumbling sea rose above the wall.

Through this chaos comes the order you enthrall.

Incredible work!! I really dig the colors , the patterns and the whole perspective. It almost looks like your spirit getting beamed into a mothership of sorts.. Very familiar atmosphere.

Beautiful work man, really good job on conveying the morphing shapes. I'm ready for the story behind it!

Thanks everyone!

This is meant to convey something that I often experience in my travels... But is mostly inspired by a single experience from a couple summers ago. I was offered the spice by a friend on a warm summer evening. We sat in the gazebo in the garden, with sounds of bugs and frogs mingling with the splash/twinkle of the waterfall... A rich but gentle tapestry of sound. I went first, vaping about 25 mg in two good pulls. Third hit and the bowl was cleared. I shut my eyes.

I've experienced many types of come-on, but I'd group them into two categories. One is like you take a toke and the chaos curtain is pulled away, immersing you in an intense kaleidoscopic world with no warning... Bang. This was the other kind, where I had a moment to put down the pipe, shut my eyes, shift into a comfortable reclining position. Visual field started out blank. I asked the molecule something I often do: Show me something I wouldn't normally think of.

The dark field of my vision took on a foggy kind of character, and then little bits of colored traceries, mostly blue and orange, began forming. As they formed they expanded and complexified. My visual field was clearly tracking upward, and as I looked higher and higher the traceries continued to weave themselves into elaborate multilayered tiles, forming a distinct room. I had a strong sense that the details in the tiles were linguistic expressions of the inner workings of my mind.

As I continued to look upward, I came to the ceiling. It was a place where the wall tiles converged into an intensely intricate fractal singularity point. The point in the middle was very hard to look at, and had a natural repulsion. It seemed to be a juxtaposition of the brightest light and the deepest black, competing for the same space, and it made my brain hurt. I sensed that I could look deeper into this point and would be granted a breakthrough of some sort, but then a familiar voice chimed into my head: "it's not the right time to do the deep work...". This voice has popped up during several trips, usually when I'm around other people. I think there's a limit to how far I'm willing to travel in the company if others.

So that's it... Basically a sub breakthrough journey that gave me a really clear impression of the anteroom. I conveyed it the best I could, but of course the image falls short of the actual experience.

Leading title candidate as of now: "Expansion".

wow that description is almost as good as the painting. I have very limited expereince with dmt but that sounds very similar to one of the experiences I had a little over a year ago. The painitng immediately reminded me of what i saw, so do the colors in alex greys Bardo Being.

So here's the painting I've been working on since the beginning of the year (most of this has been computer time... the actual painting took about 3 weeks). It's acrylic, 24x42".

This will be hanging in a group show called Second Skin at the Copro Nason Gallery in Santa Monica CA. Opening is July 14- any LA area Nexians, drop on by!

I am stumped in terms of giving it a title. Definitely think it should be simple, since the piece is a bit of a skull f#ck as it is without needing a fancy title. My wife is leaning toward "Patterns"... something along those lines. Any suggestions anyone?

Anyway, I am curious to hear if this space seems in any way familiar to any of you. Then I'll share the experience I had that inspired this.

When you made this, did you see the image you wanted to draw before hand, in your head? Or as you were drawing it???
Also do the patterns on the outside of your image, represent complete awareness??

Awesome painting! Smile

I had a very clear picture in my head from a DMT trip that I had set as a goal to try rendering. Spent a long time thinking through the methodology... Did many sketches. I then did a few simple tile demos, leading up to the graphic I made for my Nexus banner.

The room I saw on DMT was square or rectangular... I chose to go with a tubular chamber for a variety of graphic and narrative purposes. This led to additional sketches and elaborate numbered graphs.

Finally I spent several months ( midnight to two am) developing the tile patterns themselves, creating alpha channel value maps to import into Bryce, my obsolete but still functional 3D program. Over a hundred tiles, all of them different, with a separate alpha channel for each color in each tile. Many hundreds of alpha channels. Mind numbing, but very meditative.

Then I clicked all the tiles together over a two day period in Bryce and did a variety of renders, with variations on lighting etc. several of these were combined to create the final image. Another week of Photoshop tweaking the image and adding the smoke. (smoke was not actually present in original vision, but it serves the dual purpose of representing the person on their journey, and representing DMT vapor). Finally built my canvas, painted it deep magenta, projected the image onto it with a multimedia projector and traced it with white colored pencil. Then 3 weeks with the acrylics.

How close is it to the original vision? In some ways it nails it, in some ways it doesn't come close. The idea in trying to distill a multidimensional experience down to a 2D image is to give the viewer something that points them in the right direction. The rest is up to them.

Beautiful piece of Art, thank you for sharing!!

I would call it "THE DOME" Because it really looks like the place I go before breaking thru.

Then after that, it gets harder and harder to put the experience into words.
