Sometimes, a refillable lighter's reservoir holds a lot of air.

To flush it out, fill it with just a bit of butane and bleed the reservoir like in the Turboflame Operating Instructions link. Repeat this once more before finally filling it up with butane.

Update: I just went to Bunnings and bought the Samba butane refill (as I suggested in another post), and my arc fills up instantly without issues. This stuff is 5x refined, and costs $4 for a pack of 3!

The same thing happened with my Arc – when I got it, the maximum flame setting was unusually low, so I forced the adjustment screw, heard a β€œsnap”, and was afterward able to adjust the flame to a more reasonable size.


I'm gonna do this now.... for the amount I had to pay for it, I expect it to light perfectly every time

UPDATE: So I ended up turning my arc flame past the maximum setting (mind you, the max setting was only pointing to around 70% on the dial). It didnt make any pop sound, but I was able to turn it more with enough force and it's been good ever since.

Actually, the only time when it goes out is when it's been flaming for around 30 seconds and heats up. But once it cools down its ready to go again
