I think this is a half truth. I think almost all people. Even the most violent will come out a better person on psychedelics, if they have a good sitter that they trust. Please refer to my above posts.

Peace!

I see you don't realize the infinite variety of psychedelic experiences.
Thinking that everybody or even most people(especially violent ones) come out more loving and accepting/"Better" is naive.

STS is a community for people interested in growing, preserving and researching botanical species, particularly those with remarkable therapeutic and/or psychoactive properties.

IMO..saying "most would benefit" or "most wouldn't benefit" is pretty meaningless unless we consider the hypothetical set/setting they'd take it in.

It boils down to the context its taken in and the individual. Give them 5 grams of mushrooms willy nilly in a bad context and few might benefit. Say instead they did a good amount of preparation, and then took 5 grams in a room filled with beautiful art as classical music played in the background and a guide reads the Tao.. and you'd likely have a different success rate. Leary did just that back in the 60's with criminals, only it was lsd, not mushrooms. I heard they had a ton of success with that approach and most of them actually cried.

We must not forget set&setting is only a part of the experience.

I said :

It really depends on the person.

And we shouldn't forget that there are negative entheogen experiences too, so thinking they make a more loving accepting person is true in only some cases. I think the best thing they can give to a gun shaking gangster is a new perspective to look at themselves.

..

What part is wrong?

I am saying done with someone that really knows how to help others like maybe Stanislav Grof and it's someone they really trusted with a good set and setting, they can make great breakthroughs over time. That is not to say that some will no act psychotic, but that is a part of the healing sometimes, and if a good sitter is there they can work through it and come out a better person. If not they can easily end up in a hospital, for sometimes years. Again this will not cover the whole population but most.

Sometimes a part of the healing process is crying like a baby on the floor for hours. Or yelling like a mad man, or expressing very vulgar things but if it's done in the right setting with a very knowledgeable trusting sitter, amazing things can happen over time for a majority of the population I believe.

This is exactly what I have been saying it's about set and setting and having a very knowledgeable trusting sitter. Please read my previous posts and links.

This gives a good idea of the kind of psychedelic sessions I am talking about.
