I've smoked on/off since I was 15 (now 21) I've gone from smoking regularly to socially to quitting for a yr+ to only smoking when drinking etc etc in cycles. I quit for a couple of years but at the moment have been smoking for a few months (around 3-7 per day which isn't toooo bad)
I never strictly consider myself "addicted" though because I can go from practically chain smoking to quitting cold turkey with no problems at all. I find pot a billion times more addictive for myself personally, as I get withdrawal symptoms if I have been smoking a quart a wk or so for months, and then if I quit due to lack of funds for a wk or so I can't sleep, can't eat properly and constantly get bong cravings. Whereas I don't get any symptoms like being grumpy or anything when quitting cigarettes.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

A friend did smoke alot of cigarettes but then he got Hepatitis A and one of the hard-to-explain symptoms of hep A is that cigarettes taste seriously disgusting. He hasnt smoked fags since then.

And it is true that some people do develop both a (comparatively mild) physical and psychological addiction to the strong skunk-type bud that is so prevalent today.
I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

Agreed, but Mapacho also doesn't have all the nasties in cigarettes (unless you're rolling your own) and is a bazillion times better in taste and effects, imo.

I tried cigarettes socially at the beginning of college when I'd be out drinking/partying. They made my hangovers so much worse and seriously fucked with my throat. In large part I think it was due to me smoking cloves as regular cigs had no appeal. Thank god it was as nasty as it was, I now have several friends who were adamantly opposed to cigs that are now self-admitted addicts.

Ive smoked since I was 11.. Its a bad habit, and as much as it makes me a hypocrit, I dont think people should smoke. I have been able to slowly stop smoking them by using my vaped weed from mah vg, mixed with some mullein, and sometimes lotus, rolled into a pinner "joint". They are fantastic, and indeed keep my nicotine urges far far away.
Lets go extract something together Smile

SWIM smoked for well over 10 years until one night during his very early DMT voyages..

While floating thought space (actually floating in orbit in some unknown planetary system) Numerous entries were flying up to me smiling and just kind of checking me out... Occasionally one of these entities would stop look at me as if something was wrong & then instantly plunge their hands into my head and pull out these star like objects and hurtle them away from me across space, they then simply again smiled at me waved goodbye and disappeared off into the cosmos...

Once back on earth & thinking over this voyage (trying to get some meaning out of it) I out of habit grabbed for a cig like normal, but this time only to take a drag & for it to be the MOST DISCUSTING THING EVER & 5 years later I've never smoked a single cigarette since..

They fixed me... Smile

Excellent, a fellow mapacho smoker here. I also use it in a snuff, very effective and powerful medicine there.

I smoked for 16 years. Average around a pack of 20 cigarettes a day. Red Winston most of these years to be precise Smile
I tried to quit a million times but didn't give up.
Now I have not had a cigarette for almost 4 years and I hardly think of them.
I find them disgusting and I hate the smell. It makes me kind of nauseous.

I guess thats a good thing.

I always loved women that smoke. lol.

I've decided this is my last pouch of tobacco... been wanting to quit for a while now.

This is it!

Even though, I haven't had a cigarette in months, and the smell of cigarettes repulses me, I still don't think I'll ever get over the sexy-ness of a woman smoking a cigarette. It's something about the way they hold it. Maybe it's simply the use of lips, etc. And/or it has something to do with being a "bad girl."

sorry, I'm babbling
cigarettes are enjoyable, only if you're addicted, but once you're addicted...Laughing

I hope I never somehow make the stupid decision to smoke another cigarette. I even have this idea in my head, that maybe in the future I'll grow my own tobacco and use it strictly to potentiate psychedelics, but I really don't want to risk getting addicted to tobacco, all over again. I still have lingering effects from withdrawal. I believe I noted in another post/s, I'm using chantix. I've just recently went from 2mg down to 1mg, and am just getting over the effects from dropping my dose. I am not excited about being addicted to chantix, but it's definitely better than being addicted to tobacco smoke.
Posts made by me are either fictional or false, or both. I do not endorse, condone or engage in illegal activities. I love the state, my big brother. "I" myself am fictional. I am a collection of individuals, that are not entirely human. "I" do not exist in reality. Any resemblance to an individual bound by laws is merely coincidental. I lie and tell very little of the truth; do not believe me, and, especially, don't hold "me" accountable for any posts.

I wish you luck my friend. Its just the first 3 days that are the worst. Try and keep yourself busy, nibbling on veggies and fruit really helped me to keep myself and my hands occupied. Also going away to a remote natural area where you can't buy cigarettes even if you wanted to could be a great strategy if you are having a difficult time with quitting.

I can totally relate to that...I used to smoke at parties and such, but lately, I've been really turned off from it. The idea of growing my own is appealing and would make a nice addition to me little garden.

What like a fetish? smoking bad girl? interesting.. Smile
I can somewhat understand, but dont feel it that way myself.

But i might add when it comes to lips en sensuality i do have a weakness for the girls using red lipstick. Too bad dont see it too often. But maybe thats why i like it.. : P

I am a few days into giving up cigs right now, but I smoke a pipe 2-4 times a day. I really enjoy it. All the different blends and collecting the pipes.. It is unhealthy but the hour I spend puffing on a pipe is extremely relaxing and enjoyable.

Sillem's Black is a lovely pipe tobacco. As you smoke it, it tastes like roasted marshmallow, to cherry to toasted nuts. It is really a treat. But I mainly like English blends like Westminster from GL Pease. It is like tea boiled over a campfire. A wonderful smoke!

I understand it is unhealthy of course.. A pipe may be a good way to get off cigs in some sense. It is far cheaper, and much better for you (still "bad" though) but it can curb craving. And it is extremely relaxing when you get the right blend..
