ghostman wrote:endlessness wrote:no offense but, you should have realized by the second wrong attempt that something is wrong and start changing specific ingredients (the top one of the list being the solvent) to see if thats the problem (like when one has a computer problem and starts testing part by part to isolate the variables).. and yeah, your solvent is very likely the whole problem and you should try to get a couple of new solvents and do an evap test on them before using in the extraction ! That would be insane! What one does is repeat the same process over and over again expecting different results. Thanks for the no offense part. My friend just wanted to ensure that he wasn't just getting the wrong part of the plant which is why he used various parts. Also he used more NaOH and less Naphtha. Small variants, to see the difference - if any - it makes (which it obviously didn't), but if it came down to one of these parts that was the problem, he wouldn't have to get more solvent. Anyway, he is getting more solvent and equipment in the next hour and will be attempting another method. Thanks

Thanks heaps, Ok, he has tried a test evap on the Shellite and the result is promising It evaporates well until the end where it goes cloudy and leaves a slight clear grease.
At least it isn't a green slime. Hes doing 2 extractions with small quantities of A. Maidenii and Longifolia. The Maidenii is a 4 day tek which he will start today but the Longifolia is just the lazyman tek, should be done in 5 hours or so.
Will get back to you

The Evap part of the extraction as described from the Lazyman's tek As you can see there is a strange 'milkyness' to the solvent. It comes out of the bowl clear but goes milky as it starts to evap. gone 001 attached the following image(s): Picture 008.jpg (33kb) downloaded 193 time(s).

No luck whatsoever with the lazyman's tek but I'm remaining confident and patient with my other tek.
Haha - a laugh of annoyance. This has been quite a task but one must persevere to strike spice. I dont know what i could be doing wrong.

I dont know what i could be doing wrong. what do you mean with no luck? nothing left on the evap dish? solvent getting cloudy usually means it is getting saturated, which means it has alkaloids in it.. sometimes it might not crystalize and stay as a goo if you do evap instead of freeze precipitation also, its possible that your starting plants dont have much dmt .. I really dont think its about the tek, if it has alks, any of these teks correctly done will work

Your problem is almost definitely the Coleman fuel. SWIM has had this green goo using Coleman fuel, but only when evaporated. It is some impurity in the fuel that doesn't evaporate and stays behind with the spice. SWIM then switched to ACE brand VM&P naptha.
As long as your are using naptha, why not just freeze precipitate the spice from it? SWIM has had good results freeze precipitating even with Coleman fuel.
Good luck!

The solvent from the lazyman's tek came up with absolutely nothing just some weird residue. Maybe acacia bark needs to be left for longer in the basic solution or something like that.
Anyway, My friend has been trying another tek which seems to be working well so far, he has just placed it in the fridge and will move it to the freezer tomorrow morning acording to the tek.
The Naphtha has turned an almost fluro yellow colour which ive heard is a good sign :-)
The main reason my friend hasn't used freeze precip before is because there are members of our house hold that we would rather keep in the dark about what we are doing. However they will not be here this weekend so he will be able to do just this once.

It has been 3 days since my friend started a recommended 'beginners tek' from a mate :-)
It has been around 8 hours since the solvent was in the freezer and I'm getting very, very excited.
The bright yellow solvent that was extracted from the mixture was placed in the fridge before the freezer around midday local time today and since then it was checked at 7 hours(out of 24) and there is a gooey looking substance toward the bottom of the glass container.
I'm assuming this may be the start of the the crystallisation process?
Getting pretty excited, but remaining patient and will keep you updated.

Ok, so now once the liquid has become clear and everything has precipped, quickly strain off the naptha. Do NOT allow it to warm up before you do or your spice will redissolve. I'm curious what SWIY's results will look like.

Sorry it's been so long. The Naphtha in the freezer produced crystals but the liquid stayed the same colour even after a week. My friend tried to remove the crystals twice; the first time was around 12 hours after the crystals formed. He poured the liquid (straight from the freezer) through a coffee filter (with no crystals apparent on the filter), then left the jar with the crystals in it for a few hours to dry. However when they were check on, they had gone ?? The second time, from more naphtha from the NaOH/bark mix, it was placed in the freezer for longer but the crystals still formed and the same method was used to remove the naphtha except this time the crystals were scraped up and removed whilst the liquid was still cool. Right in front of my eyes they dissolved. I don't understand? they (crystals) looked exactly like others I have seen. Was it just frozen water or what? Thanks again

Thanks endlessness, i noticed when i checked out that page that there was a link that you had commented on - Yellow goo. Wont crystallize. https://www.dmt-nexus.me....aspx?g=posts&t=3519 . The post describes their spice the same as the stuff my friend has created. We were wondering if maybe my friend could make changa out of it as he has access to pure acetone. Just to confirm - Does the substance need to be crystallised before he can start to make the changa or can he just use the yellow goo as described on the above post?

yeah you can redissolve in acetone and evap onto herbs... the only issue is guessing amount of herbs to use. The ideal ratio is 1:1 herbs mt.. you can estimate on the low end, and use little herbs, and at most it will be very concentrated, you can always add some acetone and add more herbs afterwards, but if its too weak with too much herbs you cant really go back

I got yellow goo like that as well: I stuck it in a petri dish to evaporate, and after 12 hours or so I was left with some mighty fine off-white crystal. ¤ø¸โø¤º°¨¨°º¤ø¸โø¤º°¨¨°º¤ø¸โø¤º¨

You can use goo for changa but it might be hard to work with as the changa would be sticky and depending on the concentration you need it might be harder to smoke. If you don't sin, Jesus died for nothing.

Excellent, thanks. I cant find the acetone but will Methylated spirits work? It will be a few days before i can get more acetone.
