well yeah its hard to find reliable anything over the internet..I dont go off this stuff personally..I listen to my naturalpathic physician becasue she is up to date on this stuff..holds degrees as both a physician and a naturalpath and in sincere about it since she was very sick herslef at one point..she was the first person that advised me to stay away from soy products, aside from soy milk if I wanted it..but I drink coconut milk now intead..it's true though that when soy is processed it's alot easier for the body to metabolise..but im not so into precessed foods anymore..

I think the idea that soy is good comes from the fact that soy is traditionally used in asia as an alternative for meat. So people who eat less meat than most westerners do, are ofcourse healthier than people who eat meat everyday.

I was referring to Oscar Wilde in my location.
Back to food I had a greatfast this morning, back from work:

In a bowl: 2 free range eggs, a pinch of nutmeg, a pinch of black pepper, whisking hard, then 2.5 grams of amanita panther, whisking a bit,
stir fry on a pancake pan with a bit of oliv oil.
Side: toast of wholewheat bread, rub some garlic on a side of the toast.

Serve the warm special omelette on the toast.

I felt the need to put in his two cents.
I as a child suffered from eczema. It wasn't huge but I remember being much itchier than the average kid.

During my late teens however it got embarrassing and much worse. It would wake me up at night and cause him to have sleepy-delirious scratching fits for weeks in a row.

My diet at the time consisted largely of Tim Hortons food. Chili, Soups, Donuts, Soda.
and at home I ate white pasta with beef of chicken (and spices) that was pretty much all I ate really.

As I lost my job at Tim Hortons I then had to cook a lot more.

I continued eating meat + pasta 2 meals a day 7 days a week.
I started spicing it up with frozen veggies but it was still A LOT of meat.

Of all of the places, I listened to "Living Health" by Tony Robbins.
Say what you want about Tony Robbins when it comes to lazy fat people wanting a quick fix in their life, but *some* of his stuff is very good.

I took that book completely to heart and tested out EVERYTHING said in it.
I stopped eating meat for what I planned to be 30 days. It was hard, I'm not going to say it wasn't.

The "cravings" were not the problem, the problem was I am an athlete and I eat A LOT.
I started out doing everything organic, mostly raw and lot of fruits. (too much really)



Steadily I figured out a proper diet and I have been vegetarian for about 1 1/2 years now.
The results have surprised me to no end!

Firstly on day thirty of the no-meat test I had on the calender to get some burgers from McDonalds. But upon waking I was like "I don't really want a burger"

It took me many months to make the connection but I have never had an outbreak of eczema since that month.

I no longer stay up later and sleep longer, I wake up easier. When I would test meat to judge whether it was the symptom of a problem I would end up nodding off at like 7:30pm in fact.
Now I feel the need to go to bed about an hour before I do and sleep better.

My energy is through the roof, I totally thought random headaches before you are fully awake or when you sit down were normal. NOPE. On my numerous tests of eating what I used to I ended up feeling TERRIBLE and lacking energy.

Presently I make cassarole/stirfry basic mixes most of the time. All goes in the pan, cook and eat.

Example:

Orzo pasta
Canned tomatoes
Frozen peas + carrots + corn
Canned Chick peas
fried onions
cumin
salt + pepper
soy sauce.
splash canola oil.

Sure it's not organic or special but it give great energy, tastes great and takes 10 minutes to make.

I have not noticed any discernible difference when using white pastas over brown or using Extra-virgin Cold-pressed olive oil over canola.
I figure the veggies, beans and stuff have plenty to compensate...


Anyway that is my experience of food over the last 5 years.

I personally don't believe a fruitarian diet is healthy, Minxx- isn't that when you only eat stuff that doesn't kill the plants, like fallen apples? Nor a rawfood, or any of those extreme diets... even vegan is tricky to get right, I've heard of vegans getting very ill after a while, presumably after 10 years when their B12 runs out- I heard there's no proof that spirinula or whatever it's called really contains B12 and not something similar that the tests are picking up instead as false positives, and eating vitamins instead could be unhealthy. My body couldn't even cope with vegetarian, and I tried for a year and a half before having to give up. Pescatarian worked fine. I hope I'm wrong though, it would be great if we could all be vegan.

We evolved as hunter gatherers, eating a mixture of raw fruit and veg, and cooked fruit, veg and meat. Cooking food increased our chances of survival immensely when we were evolving- it kills nasties and breaks down the food so you can digest more of it. Eating meat increased our chances of survival too. Maybe some ancestors did eat some raw rather than cooked meat when prepared suitably, such as the Iniut do. Anyway, any other diet is relatively modern and I personally doubt that our bodies are designed to cope with really. Correct me if I'm wrong because I'm no nutritionist. I say think hunter gatherer, like our ancestors- they ate a huge variety, whatever edible thing they could get their hands on, and apparently they hugged the shoreline which perhaps explains why the Mediterranean and Okinawan diets are the healthiest... but some ate little more than meat if that was all that was available, and did well enough to survive. I don't think vegetarianism and veganism came in until we started farming, and I guess it was only for the poor out of necessity until how to eat that way and not get ill was finally worked out well enough for survival.

Anyway, here's what I ate today (a veggie day, I alternate):
Breakfast- no added sugar or salt muesli with nuts and dried fruit with milk
Lunch- basmati rice with onion, cardamon, turmeric, olive oil, star anise, salt
Dinner- home made humus (chick pea, olive oil, tahini, lemon juice, salt) with toasted brown bread spread with olive oil, and sticks of carrot and cucumber
Drinks: yerba mate through the day, a glass of berries smoothy (banana, apple, blackberries, raspberries etc)

What I ate yesterday:
Breakfast- same as today
Lunch- brown spaghetti in a sauce of passata, chilli, olive oil, red wine vinegar, garlic, salt
Dinner- beef goulash (200g diced beef, caraway, cumin, paprika, mixed herbs, onion, salt, pepper, carrot, mushroom, broccoli stalks, leek) with couscous
Drinks- same as today

YUM!!! I don't really like fish, at least I'm not very good at cooking it, but I know I'm meant to eat it so I eat a mackerel, a battered cod (naughty but nice!) and a tin of mercury (I mean tuna) every 2 weeks, and sporadically mussels, scallops etc. Wish I knew how to make sushi. I'm not eating as much a variety of veg at the moment really, should eat more.

I doubt it would be healthy for me to be 100% vegeatarian..I need to eat fish..I am norse my ancestors at tons of fish.

Spirulina is NOT a source of b12..most greens that claim to have b12 actaully contain a B12 analogue that blocks the absorbtion of b12 itself..this is where the "health food" movement fails us..I dont trust the health food people almost as much as I dont trust the FDA becasue alot of it is a scam imo..

aside from fish I am a vegan. I will always eat fish but I want to get into catching my own fish becasue I am skeptical of store bought fish and fish farms..as well as the fishing practices of these people.

I wouldnt be fruititarian and honestly i am a littel sketptical of that whole thing. I need to eat vegatables..I have no problem eating roots and such. Its how my ancestors evolved and eating vegetables is healthy and not hard on the planet like eating meat is..all the livestock people grow for mass consumption is not good for the environment and I personally dont think meat is the healthiest thing to eat anyway..fish feels much better to me.

I dont think anyone can really go against nature..but we can definatily go against the habits of nature..or go with them..my ancestors evolved eating fish and vegeatbles/herbs, grains, berries etc so I do that as well. I just dont eat meat..and I was born allergic to beef and dairy anyway so I dont eat those things.

Let me give you a few tips which are fking important:

1: drink clean water. Either self distilled or from reverse osmosis.
2: raw food. All food has to be fresh from nature.
Buy non-treated salt (it has a pink colour)
3: avoid sugar
4: eat alpha linolele. You can get special oil. Either flaxseed oil, or Eicosan Perilla-oil.
5: avoid antidegradant
6: Eat fish instead of meat. Especially avoid pork!

Much vegetables and fruits.

If you are not able to eat enough healthy food, do it like me, buy a natural vitamine supply. I take "Dr. Jacobs Männer-Vital" everyday.

This pretty much sums up my whole diet, except for the fish, which
I don't eat due to all the mercury, cadmium, PCB's and other shit
they are saturated with. Most fish are swimming chemical bombs. Aside from
that you have a good thing going, IMHO. I take a fish oil supplement
which is certified mercury-free. Something to look for on the label.

i was a vegetarian for 7 years - it changed the way i eat totally, and because of it i am a way healthier person. (allthough i never gave up fish - i grew up on fish as i grew up on the ocean)
It made me consider my diet - alot, made me think about what i eat - my body became so responsive to the foods i gave it that i could quickly work out the most beneficial foods for myself.

I know so many ppl say the blood type diet is a bunch of hippy nonsense - well - its not - at least not for me - that book changed my life, in 2 weeks i went from tired, lacking energy, sleepy, etc to being clear minded, awake and alert, having more energy than anyone i know and require less sleep.
As advised all i did was remove a few foods, and added a few beneficial foods to my diet.

Eating badly very quickly ruins my life - within 2 weeks i feel half retarded if i eat like packaged or processed food.
I started fasting a while ago, another best move iv made - this made me realize that ppl eat way way way too much food, way more than what is required - its like food abuse or something
Fasting seems to condition ones body to work with food better - it seems to make my body take full advantage of my food.
im 25, 6'4" tall and fluctuating between 66-74Kg and can probably quite comfortably live well off 1/4 the amount of food most ppl my size/age and weight would consume.

Another thing is sugar - refined sugars are totally not natural imo and havent been around very long at all - lame western invention - they feel preddy damn bad.
Fruit and veggies contain all the sugars we need.
To sweeten stuff like yerba mate - the traditional method is best - add a stevia rubidiana leaf or 2.

Odd but - Generally i like my diet very basic, not too much strong flavour or variety, nothing processed.

The absolute perfect meal - taste and health wize - to me - is steamed veggies on quinoa.

A healthy body responds to what you put in it - i think i would get physically sick if i was to eat a mac donalds burger or something.

I eat fairly healthy- I never buy takeout, don't buy chocolate or sweets (except on very very rare occasions) and try not to eat too much processed/ pre-packaged food.

For breakfast I usually have a coffee and a sliced tomato on multigrain toast with fresh cracked pepper. Or free range eggs (scrambled) with sweet-chilli.
For lunch usually a sandwich, salad or noodles.
Then dinner I often have- cous cous with morrocan spices, marinated chicken with roast vegetables. Or chicken snitzel with lots of salad. Or satay rice with carrot, corn, brocolli (and any other vegetables I have to add.) I also love spinach and ricotta rolls but I try not to eat them too much because of the pastry.
Snacks are usually dried fruit and mixed nuts or home-made scons (there so delicious and cheap to make.)


And I also have a dailey women's multivitamin.

Though I'm fairly underweight so I probably don't eat quite enough quantity wise though quality isn't so much a problem.

Ive been vegetarian for almost 11 years now and it was the best decision i have ever made. Even before becoming vegetarian i didn't eat much meat any way, I never like it much i mainly ate chicken and fish when i did eat meat. I love veggies and fruit and i do my best to incorporate as many as i can in my daily diet.

I personally feel when you eat meat that is churned out and produced in such a horrific way and in such appalling conditions not only are you absorbing harmful hormones that are pumped into the animals but also you are putting a creature into your body that suffered tremendously. I don't think that its really healthy for your body to grow and nourish it self from something that suffered. Just my personal view, hence why i don't eat anything that i can make friends with.

Its a personal choice to not eat meat, i think if you eat meat educate yourself on what really goes on and if you can still eat meat than that's your own choice, but don't just eat meat blindly with little or no idea of what goes on for the meat to get to you...

I don't eat eggs either as i used to work in an animal sanctuary and one of my main jobs in the morning was to chop the baby boy chicks up, it really was really difficult for me to do, they were donated from the egg farmers who just kill all the baby boys as they aren't useful as they don't lay eggs.

So most of my diet consists of fruit, veggies, nuts, plain Greek yogurt is my favourite, plain light yellow vegetarian cheese, dried fruit, herbal teas, distilled cold water, fruit juice and soy which is non GM and which is grown sustainably. I would love to hear on some other protein alternatives for a vegetarian as i would like to try and cut down my soy intake as its really quite heavy for me to digest.

as for the protein replacement, there is no single thing but, chickpea (which can be cooked and made into a nice bread spread), rice and beans (together, as rice by itself is not complete protein source), quinoa, lentils, yoghurt and cheese.. all of these have good amounts of protein..

I love chickpeas and humus i will definitely try to incorporate them both into my diet more often. I also need to incorporate more quinoa as i definitely don't have enough of it in my diet and i know its a really amazing protein source. Thank you for the advice, ill definitely be taking it on board my friend.

I used to eat tons of junk food all day, I've changed that now. For breakfast I have oats, lunch salad with no dressing or meats, then for dinner I have something nice like chicken or occasional pizza or beef. I could never completely drop pizza, a good chicken parm, or a nicely cooked burger but just changing 66% of what I eat has made a gigantic difference.
