Was a little stunned today when I noticed one of my salvia seeds had come to life. She's extremely tiny but seems healthy so far. At least she's strong enough to push upwards with that bit of soil still hanging on.
Sorry for the poor quality photo. [removing poor quality photo]

The color from your LED light makes it tough to see the seedling, but I am pretty sure I see it. In any event, congrats! I was pumped to see that one of mine had sprouted today as well. Looks like our babies have the same birthday! Keep us updated! Nothing is no thing at all.

Some better pictures of my little Salvia Divinorum plant. These were taken yesterday. In one of them you can also see a bonus, second-flush Golden Teacher growing in her bag. sapphire attached the following image(s): IMG_1018.jpg (1,976kb) downloaded 363 time(s). She's getting taller! It's really great to see so many salvia seedling pictures. There aren't very many, I assume due to the rarity of grows from seed. Anyway, keep it up! Also, very jelly about the Golden Teachers. Can't wait to grow some shrooms myself, but right now my setting would be pretty lousy for mushy trips. Have you grown any other varieties? Nothing is no thing at all.

Quote:She's getting taller! Looks like the plant might need a tiny bit more light? Would be a shame to lose the little thing to stem rot as a side effect of etiolation. “There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work." ― Jacques Bergier, quoting Fulcanelli

I wondered this as well but wasn't sure it applied in the same manner it applies to cannabis. Still on my first salvia grow myself. Good to get confirmation. I know sapphire posted a previous picture of the seedling beneath a blurple LED light of some sort. I wonder if this stretchiness is due to the distance of the light from the seedling, or from a lack of some wavelength not provided by that particular LED fixture. Nothing is no thing at all.

Thanks for the help! I started this gardening hobby about 6 weeks ago and didn't even perceive anything worrisome about her growth/shape. Moved her to a western-facing windowsill.

Thanks for asking! She was in the windowsill until 2 days ago and now lives outside on a porch. Seems to be doing well but change is slow. I've been really enjoying your thread; thanks so much for taking the time to document so carefully. sapphire attached the following image(s): IMG_1033.jpg (1,138kb) downloaded 285 time(s). I've been really enjoying your thread; thanks so much for taking the time to document so carefully. Here come the first true leaves! Glad to see she is hanging in there. Hopefully she finds the porch agreeable and continues to flourish. It is strange to look at those tiny first leaves and think that one day you might go on an amazing journey by consuming them. I have enjoyed documenting my grow. I assume someone will find it useful, if for no other reason than gauging progress. These little seedlings sure don't get into a hurry, do they? It is also nice to get some high-res photos of seedlings, since we see so few. Look at me actually being useful for once. Nothing is no thing at all.

Are those larger ones in the last photo matured? my loopy guess is that t. mckenna is off hopping about hyperspace wielding a butterfly net analog, all the while collecting the most peculiar.

Glad to see the baby is doing well, sapphire! Thanks for the update. The other two plants look nice and healthy. Those are from cuttings? Nothing is no thing at all.

Hi MasonJarBong and Naut,
I received those other 2 salvia plants as just-rooted cuttings about 8 weeks ago. I don't think they're fully mature yet but I'm honestly not an expert on what to expect.
