it seems the concensus here is that dmt should be extracted and then ingested . i'm just wondering how many people really did this for their first time

Me personally, I got gifted a capsule of enhanced leaf, and decided to smoke it in a pipe in one inhale instead of like a joint like everyone else reccommended.. Felt like I found the holy grail of psychedelics, Salvias forgiving (sometimes) twin

So I searched erowid for any clues as I simply HAD to find out what on earth kind of plant I had just smoked and where I could find it growing / seeds for it. Stumbled upon phalaris and couldn't get it here locally.

I was gifted my first session of 3 journeys, then i extracted for myself from then on.

I always think its odd anyone wouldnt extract for themselves, I've never read a reason that rang true.

time and space are my main reasons, and the fact that ive never tried it.
by the way, i was sad to hear about Eyedea, i was/am a fan of Eyedea and Abilities

Well you can scrap space as a reason, if you can fit a litre jar in your house then you have enough space. I understand some people have limited time but you don't need to do the extraction all at once,

blend and acidify the bark this morning (10mins),
base it tmoz morning (5mins),
you can pull once on Sunday/Mon/Tues (1hr each),
then stick in the freezer (1min),
done.

You could even do each pull over the course of a couple of days if you can't spare an hour.

I think people get put of because they think its a tricky chemistry project but it isn't difficult at all, even with no chemistry knowledge at all.

im not living alone at the moment and im not really comfortable performing an extraction in my current environment, so i guess thats really whats holding me back.

Its actually a very good idea not to extract when you don´t have a safe and socially-isolated place to do that.

I can extract without leaving my room.

But I agree that extracting in a place where you might get caught is a legit and sensible reason, so I stand corrected as that rings true.

im trying to be as careful as possible with this stuff, i want my experience with it to feel comfortable and safe. i didnt show the last substance i was using very much respect and it turned out very badly. i'm not making that mistake again.

I extracted from the get-go and have gifted approx 20 people over time.

Can't say I personally feel anything wrong with being gifted for your first times, kudos to those who do such a thing (responsibly).

I wouldn't want to buy it myself and would certainly never sell it.

I reckon if someone who I knew was wanting it for the right reasons wanted me to assist, I would offer to walk through their first extractions with them (for a sample of the final goodness).

One weekend a friend was telling me about DMT while we were pitching horseshoes... that week I found a youtube video of some mild-mannered British guy explaining how to extract. I think it took about 2 weeks to gather all the resources and BAM... I was my own best friend.

In my little corner of the world spice is not so common so had to extract it myself.

Will always offer friends a pipe if they are interested in experiencing the molecule but will not let my spice leave my sight. Silly thing is friends always inquire about (I know I shouldn't say it) buying a bit. I decline and offer to teach them the art of extraction and they loose interest.

It's sad how many people just want to consume and have no interest in actually learning something.

So long as enough preperation and guidance is given both before, during and after the experiance I think gifting it is ok. I would probably been more nervouse if I had no idea what it smelt/looked like and had no one with prior knowledge to advise me.
