The title of the thread had me nervous and confused.

I used to be pretty hooked on spice. I am also in the military. I quit a couple months ago because I knew they would be popping out a test for it soon and I also noticed it wasn't really fun anymore. It would last like 45 mins and I always felt too high to do anything. But in my 12 months of chronic use I never felt effects for "four to eight" days. And people running down the street naked and turning schizophrenic? The drug propoganda said all the same things about weed and LSD.

Now I'm not saying synthetic cannabinoids are harmless because I know they aren't. But this article seems to have stretched the truth a little. But don't they always when it comes to drugs.

I only tried it once out of curiosity. My friend told me to hold in my hits "as long as I could like with salvia." I ignorantly listened. Within a few minutes I felt like I was tripping. I began to feel weird and nauseous. I spent about an hour or so trying to get a hold of myself. It was way more potent than I thought it would be, and I never plan on doing it ever again. I'd imagine that's what crack feels like (in a bad way of course).

Many of the syth cannabinoids have much higher binding affinities than THC. I'm not sure if any reach the 200 mark though.

Here is a chart with most of the synth affinity data.

EDIT: HU-210 looks to be extremely potent with CB1 Ki=0.061 whereas delta 9-THC has 15.3

If I remember right, the synthetics target psychotropic centers only instead of having the anti-inflammatory effects of the real stuff. That's why they say it's however much more potent. I've stayed away from the stuff for the most part, but I gotta say it is really potent. But the taste for me is too "soapy" and doesn't feel as aesthetically appealing as the real stuff. The aroma of some nice dank isn't comparable. Buds and coffee mmmmm.

as long as synthetic pot stays popular in the media i think it helps keep the media occupied and away from us

on a side note -
as a soldier one is at risk of an instantaneous case of severe lead poisoning, not to mention suicide bombers and IEDs along with countless other risks like catching an RPG with ones teeth - sounds kinda stressful to me - i dont think anyone has the right to tell a soldier what he can/cant do to relieve combat stress on HIS spare time after a hard day of military combat

I can find this stuff at my local head shop ( or waterpipe shop ). Ive never seen it in pill form but the herb kind comes in a square aluminum colored bag with a colored square sticker that has an egyptian eye on it. Smoked it once with my friend when we use to smoke cannabis and it kinda has a similar effect but ramps up to a much more intense high. Not an enjoyable experiance at all, gave me an extremely high heart rate making me scared for my life. The duration that it lasted was close to three hours. I don't recommend this stuff to anybody.

I have a question though, why is dmt called spice? That never made sense to me? Id appreciate it if some one could explain that?

"Spice" is a reference to the drug used by the characters in the "Dune" books by Frank Herbert, The Spice Melange.

See this Dune Wiki for more info:

http://dune.wikia.com/wiki/Spice_Melange
"Christians often ask why God does not speak to them, as they believed God did in former days. When I hear such questions, it always makes me think of the Rabbi who was asked how it could be that God was manifest to people in the olden days whereas nowadays nobody ever sees God. The rabbi replied, 'Nowadays there is no longer anybody who can bow low enough.'"

just a thought but maby the name spice was created by the internet to avoid using the abriviation DMT when typing

Spice as I recall it came from the word elfspice which used to be one of the names DMT was given to cover ones tracks like SWIM is used now. I dunno if it originated from the dune stories but I have heard that before so there might be some truth to it. As far as the fake canaboids. Some are very strong the issue is that it only takes a small quantity so a first timer is almost sure to take too much. One joint of the strong stuff is like 6 MJ joints to me. So you can see how you can over do it.

Yea when I smoked any store bought blends, I would take the tiniest pinch and take a small hit. Then wait 5 minutes to see where I was at before deciding to take the second. A third hit would be too much.

I made my own blends and they were a lot weaker compared to the commercial ones and all my friends that tried it, like mine better because it wasn't so aggressive.

But I'm done with that shit. Just can't wait for the day I can smoke the real stuff without having to worry about random drug tests.

*sigh...*

I used to love that stuff. Until I started going through withdrawals. After a few months of daily use I couldnt sleep for 5 days after I stopped using it. Pretty wild. I'll stick with nature's version as usual.Razz
