I can see how google and the other big ones might help by doing it.. But can you explain how the nexus blacking out will help? I sort of feel like we'd just be fulfilling the wishes of those who created sopa ourselves

That's the goal to give society a taste of post sopa. You know of all the places where I thought I wouldnt see a fatalistic attitude this was it.

SOPA is going to pass in one form or another. If not SOPA, something else. I think if people really want to start helping with anti-censorship on the Internet they need to get involved with any of the following:

TOR
i2p
EFF

And if someone REALLY wants to help, they should set-up an always-on node on either (or both) networks. That's about all us lay people can really do, unfortunately.

I dunno maybe I am just a little peeved but it seems all anyone here wants to do is sit around and get stoned and philosophize about things but DO nothing. I feel that we are breeding a new army of ultra hip new age stoners. If it all goes to hell at the very least I can say I fought. I can at least say I gave it my all.

Why the hell do you people take DMT are you trying to escape or evolve? Laying on the couch wacked out of your mind isnt growing nor is it 'seeking'. Sitting on this forum asking the same damn questions that have been posted 100 times isnt evolving. Hell you people know nothing of DMT because you spent your lives doing the EXACT same things. No variables no records that I have ever seen. Let me tell you this there's allot more to the equation of DMT, much more if you would put forth even the littlest of efforts. But no one has, and why should I give it away to an army of people who wont DO anything for themselves. I will no longer take part in breeding a army of stoners.

^well..to be honest I sort of agree that this is not necessarily the place to go if you want to find a large group of people dedicated to change that goes beyond drug freedoms. I agree with you vovin, people need to wake up and realize that this world is going to shit so fast. I swear it is too much for many people to really realize and just being some tripper is not changing much. You have to give up certain things in your life to make real change at this point, count every penny you spend and be aware of who it goes to etc...

There is nothing good about SOPA at all..1 day without the nexus and google is nothing when it comes to your online freedom and rights.

You know it's not just SOPA and as serendipity comes about yet again after making the earlier reply I noticed travelers post in the fringe topics section. Exactly what I was thinking we have replaced seekers, explorers, and spiritualists with stoners lost in the realms of madness and fantasy. I think this comes from the fact that DMT is the new party drug of choice. This simply drives off a great deal of the real scholarly people who are seeking to know this drug and what it can do. Immaturity plays no place in this realm. You have to be dead serious when experimenting with DMT or it can be life threatening or at least scarring.

Maybe we have all forgotten but DMT is about as extreme as you can get in this world. Sure it's common place for us now but talk to somone about it and look at the fear in their eyes as they try to decide if your lying, insane, or superman. It's not a toy, it's a tool, a powerful one at that if used properly.

I seen that SOPA post awhile back funny it's 2 pages long but these idiots will go on for 8 pages on their favorite color.

Go outside, get some fresh air, make a nice dinner, read a book. The blackout is only for a few hours and it sends a POWERFUL message.

Again, freedom of internet. What's. Not. To. Support? A little blackout? No skin off your back, and a chance to open a ton of eyeballs.

First of all, don’t generalize about what “anyone here” does or doesn’t do.

The Nexus is a much more diverse community than you realize. What you imagine Nexus members to be like tells us more about you than it does about Nexus members.

Included in that diversity is a diversity of approaches to DMT use. I’m sure that some here do “sit around and get stoned and philosophize about things but DO nothing”. And many don’t.

So rather than tell us what you imagine is going on with Nexus members, why not tell us what really led to this thread, and in particular, this post? What’s going on with YOU?

Most newbie ask the same question eventually because they don't do most research and rahter ask to get the answer from someone else.
That's why most senior member and other point them politely to the wiki or other sub-forum, or to search engine.
I see DMT as interactive, the less meaning you put into it, the less meaning you'll get out of it.
So EVEN if they are maybe some "stoners" trying to get their heads wacked up, mashed up or else, they won't get much from the experience and eventually will leave saying they've done it all.

But tell us what you're point si to who ? cause there is a lot of generalization in your posts and it seems like you don't feel like part of this anymore- then why bothering keeping posting here to us ?

I posted on a whim at work before thinking this through or realizing it would only be 12 hours and have information on how to take action and so after reading more information, and this thread, i really think the nexus blacking out is a great idea and i don't see any reason why we shouldn't do it. Forgive my ignorance. Its been a ridiculous last few weeks..





Vovin, i admire your fighting spirit and dedication for many reasons.. and i agree here,to a degree, that many nexians are like how you describe..but i think your over-generalizing. As gibran said-its so much more diverse. I understand the reason for the rant though, it can be frustrating and i'll admit we all, myself included, probably could put out a lot more waves into the world than we typically do. But to generalize and say we all know nothing about dmt ect ect just seems ridiculous to me..many here do thorough experimentation and are most definitely 'seeking', and not "laying on a couch wacked out of our minds" (although that can be a part of seeking, no? )..and just because everyone who has hundreds of pages of notes/records doesn't post them on a forum doesn't mean they don't exist. just sayin, brother
