Let me say thank you traveller for this site, the entities must throw parties in your name.

So relievedd the server is back up, let me be the one to say I looked around at a hack of a lot of other website trying to find a forum of similar quality: zero luck. We seem to the tightest group with biggest ideas and actual momentum.

I think some people are concerned about where the server is, ie. what country, and furthermore what we can do to ensure it stays up in the future since my belief is donations would come to put up a simple hosted-mirror somewhere just in case.

Alright, here is some information about the server:

LOCATION
Amsterdam, The Netherlands (Holland)

COSTS
About EUR 100,- a month (excluding my hours maintaining it Pleased).

As for another server there are two possibilities:
1. Add another server to the same Datacenter
pro: Faster maintenance respons, better knowledge of environment

2. Add another server to a different Datacenter, preferably in another country
pro: Harder to shutdown the DMT-Nexus by an external party

As for the two options I prefer option 1 since I don't see grounds for legal action agains the DMT-Nexus server in The Netherlands.

The costs for another server is as follows:
Server 1U: about EUR 750,-
Monthly costs: about EUR 75,-

So there you go, an upgrade will need a fair bit of donations of which I'm not sure if thats feasible at all.

Kind regards,

The Traveler

I am 100% for donations to keep the forum alive and well. Don't think there should be any special perks for donating, just give the option. I'd be happy to throw and couple $$'s whenever I have the chance. There really is nothing even close to this forum anywhere on the net.

I also think maybe its not a bad idea to set up some paypal sort of thing, if people wanted to donate in general for mantaining the costs of this forum (or if enough donations came, for making a secondary server)..

Im usually poor but I would most likely donate a buck or two once in a while, because this forum is seriously great

respect to you for taking the trouble of the maintenance and also paying this out of your own pocket Smile

I would also like to thank traveler for the the time spent maintaining this site and i would be more than willing to donate $ aswell.

I was actually thinking, a familly member of mine has access to tshirt making equip (silk screen and heat press).

I love the artwork on the top of this page, i think it would be REALLY cool to have it as a t shirt. Mabey if you donate over a certain amount you get a funky nexus t ,kinda cool,no?

Who did the artwork,by the way?

Traveler have you ever thought about placing ads on the pages? I know everyone hates them and all, but I mean its a small price to pay to help the site survive. I'm sure there are a lot of herbal smoke shop and head shop type websites that would love to advertise here.

I think one of the cool things about this site, is that there are no adds from whatever botanical company.
True,it would add some $ to the reserves but i think everyone here is pretty dedicated to this site and would donate.
Especially if you could get a cool nexus tshirt with that awesome artwork at the top Very happy hint, hint

they are both incredible but the one at the top of this page reminds me more of the dmt landscape, whereas the very first page has more of a graffiti type feel to it but their both awesome. Smile

I think if we really keep ourselves "in check" and are real careful about what type of pm's are taking place (rc solicitation) and everyone keeps w/in the guidelines of not hypothically incriminating themselves or others and mabey even some sort of regulation when it comes to posting pictures of fake lab equipment.I dont see why we should be concerned about a third party shutting us down.We all know of plenty of other forums that have been up and running for years that talk more about hard narcotics.

I dont know what the deal w/ dmt-world was and why that was shut down.

I think faster and easier maintenance would be best, especially for traveler and it doesnt sound like anyone is appose to donations

out of question! SURE I WILL DONATE! i feel deep respect for this forum and also felt kind of lost when it went down.. not lost in terms of lost.. but i felt that something was going seriously wrong. i also think that paypal will be a good option for donation. it would also be pretty cool setting up an IRC chat - or maybe something more secret.. ever heard of silky? very good encryption! you can talk just about everything without anyone listening!
