Don't worry about people not believing in ADHD. It's normal to not understand or acknowledge something not experienced first hand.
There are a great many scholarly articles on the subject (outside of medicating). It does arise from hunter gatherer era and ADHD statistics show that there is a higher median IQ. There is also imaging of the brain depicting some of the effects, available across the inter webs. There are misdiagnoses etc, I'm sure but some of us are full on top of the ADHD spectrum and cannot function with out the assistance of supplementation at least.
To answer your question, Ritalin is contra-indicative so while I can't advise you to stop taking your medication either, it seems you will have to decide between the two if you don't want to experience raised body temperature, raised blood pressure, heart palpitations etc.
The good news is ADHD symptoms are possibly improved by the use of DMT on account of it's work in repairing myelin, shoot it could be the future cure for alzheimer's.
Good luck.
