Sites cannot be removed from the World Wide Web. The can be ignored by search engines. These internet filters are as flawed as their creators, since motivated people will always find ways around these filters easely. It ALWAYS amazes me how much more draconian Auzz is compared to the rest of the world when it comes to censoring content. The leaders there seem to really, REALLY want to control what their people see, hear, and do. It's kind of sad. Although it truly does make me just a bit more happy about the US. So i wonder, what about north Korea and China, where there is MAJOR censorship going on, many Koreans never even heard of the Beatles ffs, go figure  ! They sure enough have no access to the internet like we have, and i don't think they have the tools to set up proxy servers either. But OK, i'm over dramatizing here, but if it is really necessary it's possible to trim access to many sites, it's even possible to take the internet down, damn, our world would shrink so much if that would happen!

It is not even partially a good thing. Criminals do not by and large host public sites where illegal porn can be traded, for example, but rather it's done via rapidshares, IRC, etc. The only people who will negatively be affected by this are internet users and people who operate legitimate sites that are either mistakenly or maliciously blocked (which, according to the article you linked, has already happened).
