In regards to the Marsofold A/B Tek I would like to know about proper temps.

I understand I need to simmer my Mimosa Powder in the crockpot and not boil but what is the maximum temp for simmering... is it 140f ?? or what is the Max temp??

I understand over 140f and the spice starts to vaporize.

Also I have read in posts that the lye/water mix should be cooled to 120f before adding to the Mimosa extract(Vinegar/Water) and it should be added slowly to insure that the water/vinegar+water/lye never goes above 140f

Is this correct???

For recrystalizing what is the max temp to heat the solvent(Bestine) up to before adding to spice to dissolve.

thanks...

You would have no problems losing spice at that temp as it would be in salt form from the acid. The salts can take higher temperatures.

When basifying the acid mix with lye maybe the higher temps would cause a few lost molecules - remember the spice has to try and vaporise through water, so you wouldn't lose a lot.

As for the re-x I would keep the Bestine below 120 F.

I would have to say that boiling acidic DMT solutions seems to be one of the most prominent misconceptions in the extraction community.

I lost half of my extraction solution into my water bath when a jar broke, so what did I do? I boiled the shit out of it and reduced it from about 20L to about 1L, by vigourously boiling for several hours. Ended up still getting a fair yield (0.813% total for a very messy first time A/B extraction). Considering ayahuasca is often boiled for many hours and still remains very potent, I have come to the conclusion that boiling is simply not a big issue in DMT stability.

I would still recommend keeping it at a slow simmer (which is still a fairly high rate of evaporation), to be on the safe side, but don't worry too much about it.
