After quite some time (years) of experimenting with DMT I want to report a problem related with health. After smoking DMT I have the same problem: a burning sensation on my lungs, palate and sometimes itching on my lips and tongue. Symptoms last for several days. I love DMT but it’s hard to enjoy a trip with these inconveniences.

I don’t know where the problem is. I have tried different devices (GVG, glass pipe, The Machine and now the Volcano digital with the liquid pad and easy valve), vaping temperatures, spices, techniques… but the same problem is repeated.

Any suggestion?

For example:

-Which is for you the healthiest device and technique?

-Which is for you the correct vaping temperature with Volcano? I have tried between 140 and 180ºC and in my opinion the best is 175-180ºC, but is only an opinion. When do you put the filling chamber in the Volcano? When the Volcano reaches exactly the vaping temperature that you consider or before? How long do you take to put the Volcano air extractor since Volcano reaches the correct vaping temperature?

-I have read that “pure DMT burns if you put it on your lips or your tongue, it seems that is a normal property of DMT in freebase form. It seems that if you smoke in such a way that a lot of it is solidifying on your lips or tongue, then you'll feel a burn from it. That means you're smoking it wrong. It should not be solidifying that soon. The smoke is either not hot enough or you're breathing it in too slowly so too much is landing in your mouth and lips”.

-A clean device is always important to reduce damage. How do you clean the Volcano’s liquid pad? Is it possible to clean as the ceramic GVG filter, heating it with a propane flame to burn off the soot or impurities?
