Hello all!!
My search started 2 years ago when I came across a video of Graham Hancock talking about an experience he had in the Amazon with an ancient brew called Ayahuasca. Subsequent searches resulted in an intriguing similarity between users of this brew. After a few web searches, I booked a trip to Peru. The resort I booked with, had on their website a few guidelines I should follow to include a diet. No red meat. Apparently red meat increases the production of MAO in the gut. I followed the instruction and cut out red meat for a month prior to the trip. After 7 days and 4 ceremonies, no affect!! Apparently I am one in a million that ayahuasca has no affect on. My gut would not let the brew into my system. I left Peru completely frustrated but determined to have the experience still. Once again I found myself on the web searching for ways to produce my own spice. Gordotek is awesome. Simple. After purchasing the appropriate test kit, I reassured myself that I had what I set out to produce.

When I booked my trip to Peru, I was so ready for the experience. There was no hesitation when the shaman handed me the 1/4cup of brew. (by the fourth ceremony it was closer to 2 full cups!!). I drank that mud water down easily. But, the thought of smoking it scared me. I was intimidated. The spice sat in my medicine cabinet, in a vial, for four months before I got the nerve to vape it. And this is why I am reaching out to this forum...for some insight.

I purchased a VapeGenie and decided I would start slow with 10mg. After drawing on the vape until the smoke cleared, I held my breath as long as I could. After 10-15 seconds went by, the dresser in my room began to distort. Colors filled my vision. But then something happened that I had not heard about on any of the trip reports I had watched. My body felt as though it was buzzing. My entire body from head to toe was vibrating. Almost uncomfortably. And then nausea set in. It was all I could do to not throw up. And a heat flash. This all lasted roughly 5-6 minutes and then stopped. No residual effects at all.

So my question is...has anyone else had this happen? Is it because of the small dose? Could it be from the slight oxidation of the spice?(it started out white but after four months it has turned a slight pink color from oxidizing I’m assuming). Or, my biggest worry is that I vaped solvent that didn’t completely escape the spice when I made it. I believe I gave it ample time to dry after the freeze precipitation but maybe not.

Well thanks for reading and I hope you can help.

That's an impressive story, traveling to Peru. Too bad your gut wouldn't allow you to enjoy the brew.

I've only tried DMT twice. Nothing was uncomfortable, except I recall trying to hold my breath as long as possible.

Hopefully somebody here will chime in with info that can help. I'd advoid smoking this batch until you figure out what happened.

Good luck,

Hey seeker 2!

I’m also new here, and new to tripping Razz but I would say maybe smoke it again and see if you get the same effects? From my limited experience ever time I smoke has been different. So maybe try 10mg again, then 15.. then you have 3 experiences to compare too.

Maybe it was your mind? You said you had it for 4 months to build up the nerve, how was your thinking when you smoked it and why did the thought of smoking it scare you in the first place?

Also if your worried about the color do a quick re extraction, I just did this for first time it was very easy and you should be back to some white crystal again Smile

Hope it works out for you buddy!

Hey guys!!
Thanks for the replies!!
Dancindog...yes the trip to Peru. What a trip it was. Started off by losing my luggage between the train station and bus on the way to the airport going TO Peru!! I literally got off the plane with the clothes on my back, passport, wallet and phone!! Mother Ayahuasca was playing with me early. Then the brew didn’t work for me. I was sitting in the Amazon, with nothing but some downloaded music on my phone and some handmade clothes made by the people of the Shipibo tribe that were way too small!!

I have since done a little more searching and found that the vibrating and heat flashes (sometimes experienced as feeling cold due to the sweating) are not all that uncommon. Since I took such a small dose and didn’t get too deep, these symptoms are what I noticed the most. I think once I start increasing doses, these initial feelings will be short and insignificant. As far as the nausea goes...I surmise that it was a little bit of motion sickness. After exhaling I kept my eyes open. I didn’t start feeling nauseous until my dresser started dancing and colors began twisting. Only then did I close my eyes and concentrate on my breathing to get though the nausea. This was my very first experience with psychedelics. Didn’t quite know what to expect.

Papasmurf...yes that is the plan. To do 15 next and build from there. I think the nerves stem from my trip to Peru mainly. I was one of six there. All but me had experiences (that’s how I know it was my gut and not the brew). Since I didn’t have my own trip to contemplate, I asked a lot of questions of the others. Trying not to pry too much, but I wanted to get a feel for the experience. During the second ceremony, one of the others on a few different occasions had to ask for help from the Shaman. The following day I asked what happened and all he could really express to me was that there was a very dark and sinister presence surrounding him and that it was shear terror. Now, I understand everyone is different and that this individual had a lot of trauma growing up that he was dealing with and working through. And although I don’t think I have the internal problems he had, I still understand that this is a very potent thing I am experimenting with and I don’t want to underestimate it. Plus, I don’t really like airplanes, and from what I gather this ride I’m eventually gonna take will make my plane trip to Peru seem like a hop skip and a jump...okay maybe just a hop!! Curious...when you say re-extraction, are you meaning in the warm solvent again and then freeze precipitate again?

And Cactusman...hello!!

I hope to try again soon and share!!

Since you haven't tripped before I can defitely understand your fears.

I tripped a lot back in college, about 30 years ago. Mushrooms were a regular thing. LSD too, but I preferred mushrooms.

I was ready, in my mind, for DMT. I'd missed tripping years earlier, but had spent a lot of introspective time recently and exercised my mind without drugs quite a bit. I guess it was meditation, but I never read or studied meditaition. I just followed the visions I'd see while lying in bed with my eyes closed, it wasn't drug induced, but I went places. I learned to control my visions, changing the shaped & colors of the objects as they'd try to drift. It was like moving the clouds in reverse, as they'd try to flow across the sky. It was a powerful feeling, versus drugs which normally control the "show".

When I finally tried DMT my mind embraced it as a missing dance partner. I felt the energy had been waiting for me, just as I had been waiting to meet it. I feel like a traveler here looking for more fuel. I realize there's a universe to explore, but I need the knowledge to access the fuel (DMT) to take me there.

Fortunately I have another aya friend that will introduce me to her friends. But I realize that there's a wealth of knowledge here to be part of.

peace,
DD

It’s been a week or so since my first exposure and I noticed two things. First...dreams. I cannot remember the last time I dreamt. In the last week I have been having dreams. Nothing significant or in the least notable...but dreams. Second...a ringing in my head. I would say ears but it doesn’t seem to interfere with my hearing. Its just a constant, steady buzz. I’ve look up ringing/DMT and am trippin out in where that search has taken me. Kundalini and chakras among other things. Things are getting weird and it’s just the beginning.
