Hi there!

Little introduction.

I tried most psychedelic substances over the years (except the spice), and these experiences mostly lifted my spirits. Lately, was in an endless loop of family problems, so really had no time/desire to experiment.

Now I am finally separated, and trying to come to terms with my new reality.

An old friend, with whom we shared a few trips, approaches me and gives me a spice e-cig (without further ado) and suggests I experiment with it. Note that while I knew about DMT for many years, I never actively looked for it as I considered it "too hardcore". Now it just came to me. Must be a sign, right? Smile

Now considering this friend's situation and my own, he cannot be my sitter. So I will just choose another good friend as a sitter.

But, can anyone comment on the idea of taking DMT when my mind is preoccupied with regret about separation and other issues? I.e., I am not in the best mood currently and the hope is that seeing another reality will help me settle with this one. Is it an unlikely outcome? Will the experience just amplify my depression?

The spice has been waiting for a week now - need to setup the proper setting... And I am a bit scared Smile

Any ideas?

One of my favorite Terence McKenna/DMT quotes:

"It isn’t about you. People say, β€œwell I’m depressed should I do it?” or, β€œI just had a big fight with my girlfriend, should I do it?” pffft, what difference does it make? Who cares, about you, and your problems? It’s not like that you know, IT’S WHAT IT IS and you can have it or not have it, or whatever."

I think the more people worry about perfect set and setting, the more they worry in general, the more they mess it up. Think positive, or better yet clear your mind and don't think at all.

Kable its worth mentioning that McKenna wraps that up in the context of "DMT is a meeting with a OTHER," and to the extent in which we are in awe of this other and enjoying its company, then u cant go wrong. Little of one's own psyche (at least whats known to the self) enters into the equation. One will be in awe, in absolute astonishment...thoughts of anything pertaining to one's everyday life are slim to none.

Still that doesnt mean DMT can't cause ugly feelings. Cause it can and will. But being it is your first time, I doubt you will have a bad trip, as first times are notorious good trips.

I say do it in high spirits to try to be MORE happy. Thats easy enough aint it? It sounds like u have a couple of things to be happy for already (amazing friends?!)

I really recommend you make it as perfect as possible as the strenght and awe of the first times can not be replicated easily. That means having the perfect spot, silence/music, perfect drink near by, light/dark, perfect someone or alone, good technique for vaping, etc.

Once the visions start and you appear over there, dont get so startled you open your eyes!--You may snap yourself out of an amazing trip.
