I have little bits left from all sorts of extractions and experiments over the years. White crystal, red crystal, red goo, yellow goo, yellow crystal, brown goo, you name it. This includes both ACRB and MHRB extractions. I want to just throw it all together in some warm naphtha and re-precipitate it. I feel like this should be fine, but just in case - Could there be any weird problems I'm not thinking of? Does heavily oxidized DMT still freeze precip ok? Some of this stuff is pretty fresh and some of it is years old.

Live plants. Sustainable, ethically sourced, native American owned.

I cant think of anything going wrong either, crush them all to a fine powder in a mortar with pestle and use warm enough solvent and i think you'd be alright.

Note: Maybe not everything will dissolve, there might be sediment on the bottom decant/filter nps and re percip.

What you COULD expect what could possibly be undesired is that if you re-x and also add a REALLY impure product, then the whole outcome product will also suffer from this.

Meaning like let's say you remove 80 % of other stuff, then your nearly white products should be very white.

But if you have a mixture, you would still get pretty orange stuff if you combine ALL of them.

Why not just do 2 instead of 1.

One with the best 50 % purity samples and one with the 50 % worst purity.

I always try to leave the whitest one on their own and don't spoil them with other crap = )

If you dont care, then just make 1 big pot and re-x ;P

Not a bad idea. What I might even do is take the lower purity half and re-x, then combine what I get from that with the other half and do one big re-x

The only problem I had with this kind of scenario is that very impure DMT leaves an oily residue on the bottom of the naphtha container. It is hard to separate the oily residue and it can spontaneously solidify and it very hard to break down - the only way is to crank up the heat until the residue becomes oil and dissolves to the naphtha, than wait until it re-precipitates.

One time I was not able to get rid of the oils even after 3 recrystallizations - but it might be just me being sloppy Smile

In my opinion, the best method for cleaning very impure DMT is mini-A/B. This solves the oil problem and you can get snow white DMT from just one crystallization.
