Hello Everyone,

I'm an artist and all my life I have struggled with depression.

I started microdosing LSD (and mushrooms, occasionally), which helped me quite a bit for almost a year (without meds), until I had a terrible relapse which lasted two months.

At this moment, I'm back on meds and the occasional macrodose trip. So far, so good.

I also use DMT in order to improve my mood. I always feel wonderful after a trip, and the trips when I remember them, are beautiful.

I use a VG glass. After a lot of research, no problems with technique.

I look forward to being contributor to this forum. It looks real chill, and the members helpful.

Below are examples of my work.

just wanted to let you know that a simple image search in google led me to your website so you should avoid posting your art if you're looking for annonimity.

Cool art man! Thumbs up

I dont think treating depression with psychedelics is a good idea at all. Correct me if I am wrong please, but it seems to me like you are looking for a crutch for your (opiod?) addiction...but psychedelics are exploratory drugs and will not release the dopamine I belive you are looking for to make you overcome your depression (not even momentarily.) So they wont satisfy your craving for joy which would relieve your depression in any steady, secure, dependant manner. Dmt and shrooms are not feel good drugs. Read threads on here...everyone's honeymoon phase ends sooner rather than later and the trips turn more serious, more insane, more zaney and uncomfy...and then you will be more depressed because what you thought was gonna serve you and your depression turned against you, but in reality it never was intended for the purpose you gave it. In fact, I can imagine these psychedelics making you more depressed! 3.5g+ of shrooms will show one one's addictions so brutally that it is severley depressing...almost traumatic. So be careful. Sobriety sounds like the safest road towards happiness, though it be the road less travelled by...only because the first month of withdrawal seems so hard...but after that you are free. Think of it like this...lets say you started taking meds at 16. So imagine it was like a vacation and you were suppossed to go and come back, but you never came back...You took one vacation at 16 and it lasted all your life and it was a scam...the vacation spot wasnt what the panphlets had read...there was nothing there, but now you are stuck because the meds hijacked your brain.

I say try to have the happiest and shortest withdrawal you can as a LONGLASTING cure for depression (at least until the brain goes back to normal and then you can deal with whatever depression you have left if you still have.)

Please correct the things I said wrong as I read into what you said based on my own pre concieved notions.

Welcome to the nexus!Thumbs up

Your art captures something VERY rare and extremely difficult to put into any words. At first glance, I see an image of horror, an image that I would certainly prefer not to look upon while having any psychedelic experience. I decided to have a small changa session by myself tonight, I just wanted to induce mild visuals, fractal patterns, and hopefully some introspective deep meditation. Instead,(and per the usual) I ended up with a million questions that I NEEDED to google. When I opened my laptop, this post just happened to still be up on my screen and to my surprise the images didn't frighten, nor startle me at all. In fact, I just felt myself incapable of devoting any of my attention to anything besides these images. I hope this doesn't come off as disingenuous or even offensive, and I'm certainly not saying anyone would have to ingest DMT to appreciate your art. If anything, I'm suggesting that I was too ignorant to even understand what I was looking at before. As corny and ridiculous as this may sound, your art was able to give me the introspective meditation that I was otherwise unable to achieve yet desperately craving. Thank you and welcome to the community. P&LThumbs up

hey JKW

thanks for your post and for sharing your art. it's very evocative; i like it very much. it's unique...not disturbing at all. your technique is also very good - clearly you are a professional...your use of lighting is exceptional.

i should add, however, if you want to have some anonymity you should remove your name from the titles of the photos you posted. when doing a "save photo as" your name appears. it was easy to find your site on the web. i'm glad i did - but perhaps rename photos in the future before posting.

i wish you luck on your path of discovery and healing. best wishes to you...

Whoops! I guess it doesn't really matter anyway. I'm pretty open about my interest on psychedelics on FB.

I have to disagree.

First of all I don't have a opioid addiction. I suffer from depression. Very different things.

If you google psychedelics for depression, you will find an immense amount of articles regarding this topic.

Greetings.

FIRST OFF, I welcome you to read my introduction as my story is a testiment to the following. and as you said "Correct me if Im wrong" well here it comes.

Like the poster I also am going to have to disagree with all you said and there is plenty of research already completed and even more currently being studied via MAPS. I myself am a US Army combat veteran from OIF 07-08 with Server PTSD depression TBI, Hyper awareness and Anxiety with a 80% disability rating with the VA. Psilocybe Cubensis have been my single reason for encountering my Spiritual awakening and Currently in my "Dark knight of the soul".. No longer Who I was prior, losing weight, more clarity, more compassion and empathy. 100% ok maybe 98% a completely different person from 2 years ago.

I find you personal assessment of the poster quite disturbing. I doubt you have the degree in Psychology to come to such conclusion frankly its kinda offensive especially if you havent suffered from such mental issues yourself..IDK. But it is worrisome to see that members of the psychedelics community like yourself actually still have this point of view or opionon (which your entitled to) even if it is inccorect.which is completely unfounded. Given one who suffers from depression, anxieties etc should partake in journeys Under a proper "Set & Setting". I dont mean to offend you at all, I simply approach this topic with seriousness. As a new member here I will re frame from continuing this post as I do not wish to assassinate your character.

Please I put a lot of thought in my introduction and again invite you to read it. in hope it changes your perspective and understanding of the possibilities and impact psychedelics can have on the world. which might I add is under Great suffering due to worldly systematic beliefs.

JKW I love your work and thank you for your bravery displayed in your post. Unfortunately I dont have but I will apologize on be half of a the unfounded comments left by others. I would have been completely offend if someone came in on one of my honest moments in a public post and made such offensive assumptions about me. I now get to address such issue with compassion and seriousness. I was a ego driven Narcissist before as well.(And thats not a insult) Anyways I look forward to seeing you around the forums. and hopefully some more of your Art. I'm a photographer as well so I appreciate your eye! Namaste

In my opinion, psychedelics DO NOT cure depression. YOU have to make an attempt to find out what's making you depressed and solve it yourself. Do psychedelics unveil the reasons behind your depression? Yes. Do they make it easier for you to admit you are depressed? Yes. Psychedelics lower your defenses so you could be honest with yourself. They will not magically cure depression.

It's like if I took a steroid and sat on the couch all day instead of going to the gym, I doubt I'll see any improvement. Use psychedelics as a tool, not as a cure.

Another analogy could be going to a psychiatrist. Will this person cure your depression just because they are a professional helping you? No. Will they help guide you in understanding, facing, and solving your problem? Yes.
