So I tried to make myself a condenser for distillation.
The condenser piping is 1/2" the water jacket pipe 1" maybe, not sure.
Got the appropriate fittings, sandpaper cleaned the copper for soldering.
The pipe fittings were flared using a hammer and some metal cone I had around, then used a 1" ish metal rod and hammered it into the flare so the flaring sat properly on the 1/2 to 1" reductor/adapter.
Holes were drilled after soldering using 1/4" bit and care taken not to damage the inner condensing tube. The idea was to solder the water fittings opposed but in the heat of the moment ended up soldering them on the same side.
Needed a plug for the Erlenmeyer flask, used dry sand to fill the flask then added some wet sand on top for a more stable surface, planted a piece of tubing, blue taped and silicone casted in place. Used general purpose catalyzed silicone. I messed up a bit with the catalyzer, maybe needed more and the silicone did not set properly and was tacky for a good while, I used the catalyst dropper and put some drops on top layer of the plug and let it overnight. It came out decent in the end.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Nice build.
For people who dont know you can also buy a distialltion kit on ebay or aliexpress. They are legal for most people and are not that expensive either.

Silicone rubber bungs are also available, in a variety of different sizes.

It's always nice to build something oneself of course, and that thing looks like it could handle the output of something rather bigger than a 500mL flask.

BTW, I'd have put the bottom water spigot pointing downwards, maybe it's just me...

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."
― Jacques Bergier, quoting Fulcanelli
