Hello! I already feel like I've had a warm welcome, this site is so incredible and I love the member interaction

What brought me here specifically are my many current questions about peyote. (I'm going to be a bit vague at the moment so I don't unintentionally break rules, but I don't mean for there to be any hidden information behind my words if it comes off that way.) I researching psychedelic laws in the UK and discovered peyote can be grown legally. I hope to start growing the cacti, and my first set of questions are about caring for them for extensive periods of times, as I may not want to take it soon. I'd also be taking care of the roots to grow new heads/stems of peyote and continue their propagation, especially as wild populations are at risk. I'm interested in grafting it onto a related cactus too. I'm not really looking for answers to this in this thread, just describing my path. I'd rather search the internet/site myself but I definitely wouldn't mind links to posts and what not Smile
My drug experience is alcohol, a lot of cannabis experience (taking edibles of 80mg of THC), kava kava, and 3 LSD trips at 1 tab, .5 tabs, and 1.5 tabs. I found the site when I searched "is peyote forgiving"- something I've seen a few times. I'm wondering what the dosages of peyote are and what range of effects each produce, particularly a dose that produces effects similar to those between .5 and .75, and seperately 1 tab of LSD, I don't know if I want a definite trip (like 1 tab) or feeling altered but not really seeing stuff (.5 and higher). What is the threshold dose? Again, I will try to do my own research first.

My only psychonaut related interests are in classical, nonaddictive psychedelics. I don't know if I want a true ego death experience (I would not intentionally go for one now but I would go with the experience if it happens to occur), a break through, or visiting hyperspace.

I visited the questionnaire and was so surprised by questions about things I've never heard of and spent a few hours opening a ton of tabs about things. It's already expanded my knowledge so much and I feel like I'm gonna get a lot more than simple drug info from this site...

Smile Welcome to the Nexus. Sounds like you're on the right track. You follow the same rule I do about sticking with the classic psychedelics. There are many cactus enthusiasts here, in the forum and in chat. You are lucky if you can grow Peyote. In the States most of us are used to growing Trichocereus Cacti instead, which are legal here and while not as potent grow far faster than Peyote. Peyote is also easily grafted onto Trichocereus and Pereskiopsis Cacti and there are members here who can help you with the details.

Hi Eels (etc),

Peyote are my favorite cactus, by far! I've never eaten any of mine, and I have only been keeping them (as a friend [some may call "pet"]) for about 5 years.

From seed - if grown naturally, you won't be eating them any time soon, lol. Super slow growers from the roots. Some people graft them to some stock in order to accelerate growth. Personally? I'm a roots-type grower. I don't care about the slow growth, as I don't intend to eat them. They are certainly worth the grow, though. Fun little critters.

For mescaline - as wolf said, many people just choose the trichocereus instead. They are faster growing, and generally available in most countries. If you don't intend to eat right away, even better. Live cuttings are pretty easy to find and grow.

Growing is the gift that keeps giving.

Take care!

O, LSD, right. Dose will be based heavily on the individual user and their body/tolerance. At some point, I feel that it becomes easier to "experience" effects that are representative of a higher dose, even when the dose is lower.

Frequency plays a role. The general observation is that frequent use builds tolerance. So, someone may take 100 ug, then 200 ug, then 500 ug, and up - all in a short time frame. Due to frequent use, maybe the 500 doesn't "feel" too much different than the 200. If that person takes a break for a while, and doses at 200 ug, it might feel like what could be interpolated as 350 ug. That's because they had already built a tolerance from the 100 ug, prior to the 200 & 500 ug.

For me, if I am going to take LSD, then I'd prefer to just take 250 ug. It's been a few years since my last experience with LSD. I've still got some - but eventually hit the point of: oh, i'm good on this for a while. After an irresponsibly (IMO) high dose of >1 mg, I decided that I'd found my personal threshold. 250 ug will be just fine, if I ever take LSD again.... (I'd like to think so, but I'm most interested in phenethylamines, currently.)

Mescaline, no matter what plant makes it, is one of my favorites. For oral consumption, likely THE favorite.
Sometimes it's good for a change. Other times it isn't.
