I started this P. cubensis grow in early november after a deliberately timed but ultimate failure in late september from some 10 yr old spore prints. I knew this second grow would start flushing just before Christmas and that I would be away for the first bit, but I was too excited to wait for the new year.

I ended up turning down the heat to 11C and covering the tub with black velour to keep it dark while I was away, which slowed the growth of the small mushrooms considerably, but caused a lot of aborted pins, in addition to staggering the flushes (as of today, some of my jars are on their fourth flush, whereas others are, I think, just starting their 2nd...)

I think the cold 6 days also adversely affected my yield - I usually get 60-80 grams of dried mushrooms all told, but I am currently at 35g, and would be surprised if I topped 45...)

Here are some pics (they turned out not so bad after all!), including a pic of my cultivation tools: ‘crop sticks’ for digging for stubborn side fruits, the ‘shroom broom’ for dusting loose vermiculite from the fruit bodies, and the ‘mush brush’ to scrape out the more tenacious chunks of vermiculite.
