I've seen a few accounts of people noticing a "vibration" or "frequency" change occurring.
I was curious about this because I had experienced this as well, and wanted to start further educating myself on the subject.
According to available information, it seems as though N,N-DMT interacts with the S1 receptor which modulates calcium signalling through the IP3 receptor.
The IP3 Receptor (quoting this from wikipedia) seems very interesting to me.
"There is strong evidence suggesting that the InsP3R plays an important role in the conversion of external stimuli to intracellular Ca2+ signals characterized by complex patterns relative to both space and time, such as Ca2+ waves and oscillations."
I'm assuming they learned this from DMT perhaps?
It also interacts with learning, and memory...
I am not a neuroscientist, so I don't claim to know exactly how the interactions are taking place, but I do understand at a cursory level how neurotransmission works from a few semesters of psychology. Not totally ignorant, but definitely not competent on the subject. (It's been some years since college
)
With that said...
Has anyone tried to actively control or influence this modulation mentally? I saw a post regarding the use of binaural beats...and that also seems interesting. (I'll have to try that)
From my experiments / findings with this concept, it definitely seems like the rate at which this frequency occurs, correlates to the rate of information being processed / received during the DMT experience. And the type of information being received.
When I tried pure DMT for the very first time, I had no idea about any of this. (All I knew [with regards to physical interactions taking place] is that it was reported safe according to current research, and that no physical harm should take place)
The frequency I experienced was at an unregulated, extremely high level. And the amount of information I was bombarded with was impossible to decipher. It was like watching static on an old T.V. I didn't see anything at all really. It was just white noise, and it gave me a headache...
But as my brain grew accustomed to the process, I noticed the frequency not being quite as high, and there were lower overtones mixed in. It was at this point, I then started experiencing, and remembering what took place.
I have a bit of mild tinnitus, I always have a slight ring, and I noticed that this ring is also modulated by the DMT experience. (It's frequency goes up as well) So I think it's definitely more of a physical / mechanical response taking place.
With the notion that this frequency was subject to change...I made an effort to try an enact the change myself.
During a moderate dose, I imagined myself like a throttle, tilting my mind one way to speed up, and the other way to slow-down. And there was a definite response, surprisingly...
During this experience, I was able to throttle it all the way down to almost full-stop. And at that point, my conscious mind gained a level of input with regards to the experience.
The imagery was no longer being forced upon me, and I was able to create and paint freely, according to my thoughts and imagination...Whether this was an illusion of control or not...I felt like I had some active input now.
It's a very curious molecule, and we have very curious brains...I'm interested to see what other's may have experienced with this. Or might experience with this given the idea...
