I did a search under plasma lighters and yielded no results.

Im on my way working through the DMT dry tek by endlessness (endless thanks buddy!), and I have ordered the GVG for vaping as recommended by lots of people. Now Im looking into the lighters and I was just curious about these relatively new plasma lighters/ electric USB rechargeable lighters. The GVG page makes no mention of those, anyone here has any experience?

Do you have any suggestions for the vaping methods for a newbie in terms of using DMT out of the GVG?

I have no idea except to say, the difference between a normal flame and a plasma lighter would be that, with the former, much of the oxygen has been used up whereas in the latter it is still present and may adversely affect the material you wish to vaporise. The plasma lighter may be worse than using a heat gun because it's possible that some nitrogen oxides may form, too.

That said, the differences are also likely to be trivial and someone with experience would have more validity than my top-of-the-head extrapolations. If you have a GVG and a plasma lighter, I'd say at least give it a try. Then you can fill in this hole in the literature.

I don't have a plasma lighter in fact I don't have any, Im about top buy one.

Better safe than sorry, I will go for the regular butane Candle flame lighter for the time being hopefully somebody that has these types of lighters can chime in!

they produce an arc of electricity and no flame. you can light a cig or a bowl but, its a struggle to light a candle. They are also great for windy places as you can not blow out an arc. As a GVG owner I can say your better off with a blue flame torch lighter.

thank you GLT! Is that a DMT thing or in general? The reason I ask is because at the GVG website they discourage using a flame torch. I have no idea as to why but its probably a safety thing, but at the end, just a matter of how you use the lighter...
would you be able give us some guidelines regarding the use of a torch lighter with the GVG? I'm a first time user of any kind of vape. thank you!

I use a torch lighter I got from a gas station for 4.00, it works when pointed straight down.

I like to gently push the liquid pad into the neck of the GVG, use my tiny funnel to get the spice on the pad. melt the spice by passing the lighter over the spice a few times, you don't want it to smoke, just melt. Plug the GVG with the ceramic filter. Right before I use my GVG I hold it in my hands to get it warm, in my exp a cold GVG collects spice on the walls. Keep the GVG level and start with flame tip pointed down approx. 2 inches from ceramic filter. start hitting the pipe as you swirl the lighter flame above the filter, avoid the glass edge and start moving it closer. When its at 1 inch you should start seeing vapor fill the pipe and may even make the ceramic filter glow a bit(no worries). Keep hitting it till you cant hold anymore or the pipe goes clear(I can always get it in one hit up to 30mg no prob). repeat: if you still see vapor. hold for 10-15 secs.

you can touch the blue flame to the ceramic without hurting it but, it can get the spice too hot and make it run out the pad bottom before you can get it in.
