I was reading the thread about badges and wanted to say.... Corpus Callosum has a medical doctor badge as dreamer pointed out. He and Null24 showed me right away with their back and forth in my intro thread that this place is something special, not your average drug forum, I was very impressed. The Grateful One has a handshake badge (says welcoming committee when you scroll mouse over it). Benzyme has a gold Erlenmeyer badge in addition to the standard chemist Erlenmeyer. And it looks like Loveall has a heart icon under his avatar, above his brain and Erlenmeyer badges. Traveler has a cool little badge all his own. I wondered about the badges when I first noticed, I'm glad for the thread so I can know more about the Nexus and the people of is made of, consider this my contribution to said thread. What we found was people would ask for different ones and it became very difficult to "verify" anything. Also sucks to hurt people's feelings.
So instead there were "self chosen" badges that carried no weight, but could identify things about you. I like Computers, or I Garden or I make Mushrooms, Philosophy, I raise Frogs! etc.
It seems to be the only way to do this without having to know a lot about others and having to trust and verify. Furthermore, it puts the controls into the users hands.
However, this is code work so.. there is that too.

Hey this is neat. A thread I started when I was in the Welcome Area!! For the information of new members- this was a piggyback thread which was started by a full member, which I wanted to comment on, so I made an addendum thread referencing the title here in the welcome wagon.
