For the longest time I have seen the world as becoming more and more of an illusion; built to keep people in a state of bliss or to be placated. The modern day Orwellian soma, part created by others and part created by the self.

It has been a constant drive to see myself without ego, to view myself in the most honest light possible. And for the longest time since discovering what can be achieved with items such as DMT and Ayuhasca and the like; it has been a driving force to experience it for myself, and to see what I can learn and see.

Hey, Welcome.

Indeed these substances can provide one with guidance, but won't solve your problems for you. Heightened expectations is a very dangerous trap, multiple times over. First off, you might have an agenda that doesn't quite line up with what the substances have in store for you. It's something I ran into when I first tried psychedelics, and really left me disappointed and somewhat hurt. The other trap is that using substances can turn into an illusion of progress. Plenty of people around dropping thousands of mikes of LSD and vaping spice all the time, and really they continue to be horrible people with growing god complexes to boot.

So my thought is, 'wanting to see yourself without ego' is a pretty egocentric and self-defeating goal. Instead of having prejudices about the world and yourself, seeking understanding of the universe inside and outside you might be a more productive path.

ps. it was Huxley, not Orwell.
