You can edit your post and add stuff. No need to serial-post like this.

As far as I know, I don't have any psychosis or ever had. Schizoid is just a personality disorder. In fact, I actually take anti-psychotic medication (Seroquel) because of its sedative properties, not because I am or ever was psychotic. Would your "Vegas in debt"-comparison still be valid knowing this? Not trolling, valid question (at least I think so Smile )...

Well it's classified as a personality disorder because it just doesn't reach the level of being called 'psychosis'. Kinda how you call a small rock a pebble. It's still the same thing.

Yes, indeed my metaphor stands. Continue on with psychedelics, and you might find yourself with a proper, as-by-the-DSM, hones-to-god psychotic breakdown.

Yeah, you should realise what's at stake. Don't gamble with your mental health. It's most likely not worth it.

Hmmm. I'm scared now. I used to be too scared to use it, but then I saw the drugslab episode with Nellie...

I don't want to go insane.

Tried ketamine once, was part of an extacy stack. Didn’t like the feeling of being disconnect to my arm and legs, and the hallucinations were rather mysterious and unfulfilling.

There have been times when I felt my racing mind and anxieties worsen after a toke or on a psychedelic trip, but every frightening experience has often taught me more about myself than those I enjoyed. (Scares me into right thinking/wanting to live/wanting to be closer to family, friends)

I tried an antidepressant in high school and didn’t like the artificial coloring over that it felt like. When I listen to side effects including increased suicidal thoughts, sickness, and bleeding out my ass, I don’t experience those from traditional entheogens.

I have read some horror stories of people being completely lost and unable to differentiate reality from their thoughts for months at a time. These are usually the result of massive amounts of lsd and improper intentions/mindsets. With a respectful approach and not overdoing it, a lot can be gained from the experience. I eat better, enjoy meditation, being outside, and feel more connected to people than I used to.

There’s a lasting effect that I get after any journey that impacts my life in a positive way and seems to steer me in the right direction. I think our greatest fault is our fear of being vulnerable, it is for me anyway

It is not for everybody though. Psychedelics are a bit like walking on the edge of a cliff. Most people won't fall, because they have a sense of balance that keeps them from tumbling into that cliff. But people who do not have that sense of balance should not go there.

Yes, you'll miss the realy special and wonderfull view. But falling realy hard and deep is not such a pretty thing either.

I really don't want to invalidate anyone's beneficial experiences, and as I said, I'd probably want to experiment in a similar situation... That said, just a quick browse through the experience reports will yield multiple examples of people wound up in a paranoid schizophrenic episode using DMT. It's a question to what level DMT use can be implicated in these situations, but there does seem to be a connection.

Respect and a responsible approach are always a good advice, but I won't tell someone with low-key schizophrenia that they will be okay if they stay respectful and responsible. They may be okay... the may not be okay... I have no numbers, just anecdotes. Still, this sort of thing does happen, and isn't uncommon at all.

Using or not using is something they need to decide for themselves, knowing this fact.

If enough people advise against doing it, it’s usually a good idea not to. Ultimately it is up to you to decide, however, looking at your list of use, it probably is not a good idea to go straight to the strongest molecule in the world without warming up to it with other more common psychedelics...and seeing if it’s the kind of ride you want more of.

No offense, but I found my cocaine, mdma, ketamine, and opiate experiences shallow in comparison to the depth of my experiences with entheogens. The effects are unpredictable and often terrifying, but in the end so much more rewarding for me

@johnmutts you say you don’t like weed, what is it like for you? What do you feel after a burn? The high thc content just makes me paranoid now but smoking cbd flower I can enjoy

If you can get your hands on 1.5-2grams of shrooms that might be a good place to get the feet wet. I don’t go for higher doses anymore but I might in a well prepared group setting

Weed makes me paranoid, too.
