I initially ran across the concept of preparing and applying Amanita Muscaria for topical pain relief on Erowid, which inspired me to attempt to follow the instructions as best I can, as I have chronic pain, but the instructions on Erowid are very vague. However, I did find a thread here on DMT-Nexus from years ago that has a couple of users expounding on their personal preparation methods and trip experiences, which I would have loved to have replied in, but as I am not a full member, I cannot. I do not wish to be impaired, and the dosage the commenters seemed to use was relatively large. While their experiences were described as mild, they were more inebriating than I would like to experience myself. Does anyone here have any insight into what might be a threshold topical dose for analgesic effects while minimizing the psychoactive properties, as well as any preparation methods you know about? Even if you don't know about dosage for what I guess would be micro dosing, topical preparation methods you know to be effective would be immensely helpful, as right now I'm shooting in the dark more or less.
