I'll answer your second question first, they are different ball games.
Imo shrooms that are high in beocystin can be very DMT like, but I've also only smoalk DMT so it a little hard for me to compair.

Secondly, I don't necessarily think previous psychedelic experience can prepare you at all for any other psychedelic experience really.

If she feels comfortable than I would let her try it. And .05mg wouldn't even be threshold. 5mg I believe is the threshold

I typically give people 10-15 mg for their first try, and will up that from there if they want a heavier experience.

5mg would read .005 g on a scale. .05 g = 50 mg .5g = 500mg

Just for reference.

I have mixed feeling about VICE. McKenna I like though.

It's always been strange taking small hits of DMT outside. I prefer being inside haha.

Sigh, and you named the one VICE show that I have the biggest problem with xD. I enjoy Pharmacopeia, but can't stand Hamilton.

My fiance and I always joke when we watch it that I should get ahold of VICE and tell them to let me host his show. I'd be better at it.

He could actually try the things he's talking about instead of pretending. XD

Several episodes he supposedly injests something, but the camera never catches him doing it and then he asks what it's supposed to be like or something.

The frog episode, he watches a guy who is absolutely obliterated by 5meo, writhing around on the ground, in the creek and so on. Hamilton hits 5meo, lays down and repeats "love" over and over for the camera, and then stuck a stick to his face so it looked like he was idk thrashing in the bushes or something, but left it stuck to host face for the remainer of the interview. It even fell off at one point and was there again in the next shot.

I just can't watch him without thinking hes a poser.

Edit: Don't take my comments on Hamilton too seriously, I do still watch the show after all

Yes, I think for the most part he is pretending.

Episode that comes to mind that didn't seems fake to me while he was partaking was the peyote episode.

Hi Virandell!
I dont recommend you use Terrance Mckenna to introduce your GF to DMT or other psych, because he is too good and too much into this topic, he can be hard to understand sometimes (atleast for me) I would use recommend you introduce your GF to DMT with something that is more understandable and funny, entertaining to watch such as these, check them out if you didnt its worth watching:
DMT: The Spirit Molecule
What DMT Feels Like!
I can link others if you are interested.
About Hamilton Respect for him, hes great i like him a lot, love his work check him out more its not all about VICE hes deffinetly not a poser (atleast i think).

I think the most important thing is that she feels she is ready after reading a bit. I doubt she can really get a grasp of it without experiencing a psychedelic in the oral route of administration, which is much more gentle.

There is a clear shot of him resting his head on the bank of the stream, and there are a few small pebbles stuck to his forehead and a piece of dried grass stuck in his hair. I think a simple explanation to its disappearance and reappearance is that in post-production they felt the moment was conveyed better with the shots out of order. I think it's slightly unfair to accuse him of faking, and then criticize him for not giving you a nice performance. Perhaps that's just how he reacted at the particular dose that was administered to him with a film crew surrounding him.

It is more nice to have self-assured hosts on TV.

Hamilton Morris, I sometimes find his show entertaining, he's just another human being trying to make sense of these substances. No more no less. I felt the 5meo scene was pure pose, it definitely seemed rehearsed to me. Thought out for the show. Here's what I would like to see: something like Hamiltons Pharm, but hosted by a few old school Nexians. The ones who made this place what it is. I would watch that show.

Sometimes I feel like DMT taps people. It works itself into you curiosity and creates itself into your life. Dunno.. just a feeling.

Have your girlfriend watch the video below. It is real people, talking about their experiences, as opposed to celebrities who tend to sensationalize. I wouldn't baby your girl too much, let her make her own decisions.

OK, that was not a specific statement but it would be better if you didn't implicate yourself quite so much.

As I said in multiple places multiple times, I'm particularly not a fan of playing gatekeeper. Most of us are not shamans, and that's not a question of proficiency or spirit power, but a question of authority and responsibility. A shaman is a shaman only in a social relation, a shaman of the people who accept them as such, who look to them for guidance, and for whom they are responsible. I think it's one of the worst ideas ever to assume that role unasked and/or unprepared.

Of course you are free to give or not give drugs to anyone, based on your own consideration. But it shouldn't be you asking if your girlfriend is ready for DMT, it should be her reading this forum and deciding for herself. Smile

I'm not a fan of any of the psychedelic literature or speakers out there.

None of them can capture the essence or the experience really.

Because of the diversity of our experiences, IMHO there is only one way to approach these things, with an open heart and no suppositions/expectations. By watching, reading and consuming these medias without any experience we can get an idea of something that is actually inexpressible. That's a logical fallacy in itself.

Maybe after one has seen it for themselves they can begin to relate, maybe build up some repertoire with the magic, but until then it's just postulation.
The nearest we ever come to knowing truth is when we are witness to paradox.

How well do you know her? DMT, or even psychedelics in general, are not for everyone. Most people will be able to handle it pretty well. But some people have a very fragile mind.

I know it is very hard to determine if someone other than yourself, is mentally stable enough to be able to handle it. But it is an important question nevertheless.

Do you think she is mentally stable? Did you ever feel she had a paranoid way of thinking? Or weird obsessions, phobias, or moodswings? Do you think her mental age and her real age are more or less the same or does she sometimes seem a little immature for her age? Is she a very impulsive kind of person? Does she sometimes act in a very irrational way that is harmfull to herself?

If too many of these questions are anwered with "yes", then i would strongly advise her not to take any psychedelic, and to lay off the cannabis as well.
